Are U not Entertained? I’m old enough to remember Years with no bowl eligibility! So, it ain’t Prime Rib, but it also ain’t Swiss Steak

This is the 43rd year I've been following the team. We are 1 more win away from being above .500 in conference for only the 11th time in that span. I've seen this program lose 17 straight to Sparty. I wont apologize for enjoying this win.
+1000

It isn't pretty, it isn't easy......but the team is battling and finding a way to come out on top even when things are going wrong. It wasn't all that long ago that as Gopher fans the assumption would have been that a game going the way this one was, was 100% going to end up in the loss column.

A few weeks ago we looked at the 4 game stretch of Purdue, Nebraska, Iowa and Michigan State and most agreed for this to end up being a decent season we needed to go 3-1 over that stretch. Mission accomplished.....might be lacking in style points but sitting at 6-3, 4-2 with 3 games to go is a pretty solid place to be and one a lot of teams in the conference would gladly trade us for.

I agree, but I don't see Coyle wanting to do that, as he hired Fleck, he produces a consistent product with no issues off field, the players go to school/graduate an he's a great Ambassador for the U.

I can see a playoff berth in the future, if Drake continues to develop and there' significant overall improvement in his junior/senior season.

Obviously, lots of things have to break right, but if you don't have the right QB, you got no chance. I think for the first time in the recent past, we have the right QB.

I'm gonna stay optimistic.
PJ’s 2019 team was more than capable of getting into the CFP. We’ve seen him put together a team that’s capable of it before. Need to make sure he has the resources he needs to compete here.

You said it perfectly. I could not agree more.

Simply enjoy it. Enjoy the fact we got all the penalty calls. Enjoy the fact we made plays that were so lucky. Enjoy the fact that we made plays that we don't normally make. Enjoy the fact they dropped passes.

After decades of sucking from age 7 to 27, I am simply going to sit back and love every aspect of that game. For all you youngsters that were not fans of us in the late 70's 80's and early 90"s, we sucked. We lost games in the worst ways possible. So, when we win a game like this, we f'ing enjoy the hell out of it.

Maybe the Gophers can figure out a way to get Tim O'Dey to ref all their games? He's been good to them.

:)

One more thing about Wacker. When the Gophers fired him, Wacker had the guts to say "We absolutely should have been winning more games by now." He understood the firing and owned it.

Most coaches don't do that anymore. They blame the University, AD, donors.
Talk about guts.

He reported his own program for a Boosters making under the table payments behind his back.

Of Course the NCAA hammered TCU for it.

Still, Wacker was never a sellout. And probably a substantially better coach than a lot of famous ones. He just refused to cheat, even when someone did unnecessary cheating for him .

And of course, never forget he scuttled Wisconsin best hopes at a Football National Championship....... For which he rightly deserves the Presidential Medal of Freedom - one of the World's most unresolved injustices.

And that was an entertaining brand of ball; not successful, but lots of points scored and surrendered.

Also, my favorite shade of Gold ever on a Gopher uni. Chris Darkins breaking free into the secondary with those seemingly oversized shoulder pads was mesmerizing.

In a profession full of scumbags, Wacker was one of the good guys.
Yes he was. A legit good person. Texas State named their field in his honor.

And in hindsight, he was a legit hire. Won at all the lower levels. Came from a SWC program. On paper, it was good choice. Just didn't work.

Unlike Brewster who never should have been hired.

Him and Tyus Jones both had one moment of gopher greatness

Costing Wisconsin a national title
