Andrew Trout, 2026, 6'6" offensive tackle commits to Gophers!

I saw his commit picture with his parents, is he adopted? He is like two feet taller then his parents. He looks fully developed as a 16 year old.
Stop getting ahead of yourself - what matters is how tall he is compared to Mike Morris! Have you not learned anything while being on this board? ;)

(On a side note, dad looks to have done pretty well with a younger woman - no way those two are within 10 years of each other.)

Mom's almost as tall as dad. It's all about that mom height.

Carroll O'Connor was about 46 when All in the Family first aired. I think men can be hard to get an idea of age based on appearance due to premature balding and/or graying among other factors. They're probably closer in age than they look.

It's been fking infrastructure week in the football program apparently. Let's go!

Very nice to get an early commitment from a kid who is likely to be one of the top Minnesota kids in 2026.

Local kid as well so that greatly improves the chances it will stick.

I'm a noticeable amount taller than both my parents, and most of my extended family. Not quite the difference shown here, but it's crazy what can happen when the genes from your parents mix. Plus having better/more consistent nutritional intake, better/more sleep, etc all factor in as well.

Perhaps one or both of his parents have the genes to be that tall, but something in their environment growing up meant they didn't reach their full potential height.

Great news and start to the 26 class!

Need him and the other Chan boys to get on the other in state OT Linder. Happens to be an 88 but a higher composite

The parents do not look malnourished. But it is Cold Spring, and the parents have the same last name.

Give a shout-out to P.J. Fleck! We are keeping and getting back lots of homeboys!

That's quite an edit. Can barely even tell it's not originally him.
That has been the secret to NDSU recruiting, the studs from our small towns will sign early when they get the love from the Gophers. If you remember, Fleck was recruiting Illinois predominantly when he was first hired. He has realized that Minnesota has great players.

In state kids by year (scholarship)
2017 - 5 including 3 of top 5
2018 - 5 including 3 of top 5
2019 - 4
2020 - 3
2021 - 2
2022 - 5
2023 - 7
2024 - 6
2025 - 4 including top 3

He's done a better job in state lately (I also thing talent in state has increased so there's more opportunity) but he also did ok early on after getting hired. The few bad years weren't because he wasn't trying.

For those curious,,,

John 1:37-39

New International Version

37 When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. 38 Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?”

They said, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?”
39 “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.”
So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon.

My favorite bible verses come from II Kings 2:23-24...

23 From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. “Get out of here, baldy!” they said. “Get out of here, baldy!” 24 He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the Lord. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys.

I made up for it by being considerably smaller than my father.
