Played twice as many minutes because lack of other high quality talent on the roster

I guess we'll have to wait... And watch. If i remember wolters had only offers from und, ndsu etc..
Just like guys like Jordan Aaberg, Mike Felt, Fred Newell, Mitch Wilmer, Brandon Brekke, Marc Sonnen, and Marvin Singleton. All of these guys are MN kids who received these kind of offers and are having average careers at places like NDSU, UND, and Northern Iowa. We like to point out when someone does very well, but not when someone just does okay or below average.
Mike Felt - besides his name being a sentence - is a nice player. I would trade at least one unnamed player from our roster for him. Again, given the choice of believing my eyes or believing you, I'll take my eyes.
Saw Mike Felt play a number of times in high-school and he is not a Big 10 player. Strictly one-dimensional with only a three point shot. Average at best defensively.

That still doesn't prove that he should have been offered by the Gophers. That's the point I'm getting at. We only hear about the Woodside's and Wolter's, but never about the guys who end up being good but not great.
Upon reconsideration, you're right, I'll believe you instead of my eyes. Thanks for setting me straight.
There's probably no question he wasn't a Big Ten player when you saw him in high school. I didn't think he defended all that poorly when I saw him at Williams Arena.
Frankly, im not concerned at all that we didn't recruit him. Good for him if he turns out to be a star at SDSU. He's a 6'1 shooting guard that plays against some of the worst competition in mn high school hoops.
Agreed. The Hoff has led us to believe every white kid who can shoot needs an offer.
People really don't realize how special Blake was. He was much more than just a kid who could shoot.
Pretty good strength, smart passer, incredibly quick release. Getting open looks against MSU is a heck of a lot different than getting looks against Northern State University.
You're right if Broman were on the Gophers' roster. Getting open shots requires team play and good passing. He'd, however, get plenty of them on Indiana or Wisconsin. But our focus is on aggressive defense and the power plays that are expected to result. Broman wouldn't fit in at Smith's Minnesota. Best wishes to him. Seems like a good young man.
One of MY biggest pet peeves is the notion that, the day after our team scores only 53 points in a home loss, fielding a starting five that includes a shooting guard who can't shoot, somehow the sought-after quality of being able to put the ball in the basket is overrated. That I just don't get.
Because being able to shoot in high school against questionable talent is completely different from being able to shoot in the Big 10.
we should just offer every kid from minnesota so we cant "miss out" on anyone
You are an idiot. Why don't you reply to things with something other than a condescending arrogance.
A few people wanted Kevin Noreen based on similar circumstances as a big man. He is averaging 2.5 pts, 4.3 reb, and shooting 45% on 3's on a .500 West V. team getting 17 min a gmae.. Sounds like he would have been a good Wisconsin guy. He would be a decent bench guy, but odds are he wouldn't have ever started here. Now a slow small player I believe Clem never went after had a super career at Iowa St.; Jake sullivan. He was the best 3pt shooter I ever saw, played the point in high school, but he was no athlete. Iowa St. let him guard the slowest offensive player or played zone. But they found ways to get him on the court and shoot the lights out. Broman isn't that kind of shooter. I think Sullivan averaged almost 15 pts per game for his career. 42% on 3's. Both are about 6'1".
I believe we recruited Sullivan. And that was during the Monsen era.A few people wanted Kevin Noreen based on similar circumstances as a big man. The thing is you look at how good Wolters is now then yes he could play for the gophers, but would he have developed into that player had he committed here, doubt it, but I'm sure he would've found a role and wound up better than a few of our bench players. Boman or whatever his name is might be good enough to hack it in the bigten in three years, but not next year otherwise Tubby, Bo, Fran, Miles would've been all over him
