Amelia on Buzz: The Marquette coach just might be get-able.

Yes, thank you.

It was still a disgusting basketball game to watch.

Kudos are deserved by Syracuse for making Marquette play the way they did. Everything is always negative. Syracuse was amazing on both ends of the floor. Defense? Dominating. Offense? Good shot selection and put the ball in the hole.

So Buzz wakes up to playing Gtown and 5 wannabes with no national tv=no recruiting? Yep, He's a lifer on Wisconsin avenue no doubt.

Truthfully. While how much $$ his athletic department is getting from Tv/media deals is not his number 1 concern. He must at least be a little concerned. The new TV deal for the catholic 7 (soon to be 10) is average at best. The BIG blows it away. Now. The BIG schools have biggest budgets and more sports to support. That said. The future is very uncertain for the new conference. This, and a rumored icy relationship between BUZZ and the AD provide the 1% chance that he may leave. So you're telling me there's a chance?

Nah. Never will happen. Fun to dream.

It's different in basketball than football when it comes to conference, and I think people are overstating its importance on why a coach wants to coach here. I think the conference matters much much more in football than basketball. You can coach in the MVC/CAA/A-10 and still have a shot at the NCAA championship because there is a tournament, everyone has a shot to make it, unless you are in probation/banned from post season play. If you are coaching in the MAC/MWC in football, you don't have a shot. The voters don't respect your conference.
