Back on topic, congrats to Amanda for having one of the best games of her program's history. Its great to have a breakout game, it is even better to have one of the best single games in the history of your team.

56 Rebounds must be a record for any 2 games and one player in college (likely men or women). What a stat line, 66 points and 56 rebounds over last 2 games. Glad there is one team getting it done this year...

Doubtful. The men's record for one game is 51 rebounds.
 

The crazy thing is that she got those numbers when Michigan actually played very well against her today. Their center did solid job fronting and they got good weak side help.

It was against the number 13 team in the country. It was against a rival. Iowa fought to narrow the deficit margin from around 10 points to one point on several occasions. All of that is not indicative of no interest in winning by Iowa.

During he men's game they kept saying she had 32 pts., not 39. Shawn Morris is an idiot

Quit being a Debbie Downer. If you don't have proof that someone has more than 56 rebounds in 2 consecutive games, let us enjoy the moment. We have the proof on 56. :)
 




ESPN: Gophers' Zahui B. is player of week

Numbers -- even really gaudy ones -- do not alone secure someone winning espnW's national player of the week honor.

But when you put up mega-gaudy numbers and help your team win two crucial league games, you have a pretty good case for the award. And so for the second time this season, we give kudos to Minnesota center Amanda Zahui B., who filled up the stat sheet -- and then some -- this past week.

Tuesday, the "Big Z" piled up 39 points and 29 rebounds in the Gophers' 93-80 upset of No. 13 Iowa. Both were career highs for the sophomore, and the latter was also Big Ten record.

Then Saturday, Zahui nearly matched her rebounding mark, grabbing 27 boards, and also had 27 points as the Gophers held off Michigan 91-88 in double overtime. In the two games, Zahui was a combined 26-of-48 from the field and 12-of-13 from the line.

Oh, and Zahui also had nine blocked shots in the two games, giving her 109 this season. So she has already broken the single-season school record in blocks that she set last season as a freshman.
