Yeah. I'm not too focused on getting 4 star kids with amazing offers. I trust this coaching staff and their evaluation...and how they coach these kids up. Sawvel has been very impressive.

Wow! That's 15 commitments and it is Oct. 13th. It seems like the Gophers are getting whom they want early.
What kind of BBQ did they have in July?: Here's a list of guys who attended and subsequently committed: Waters, Brown, Oseland, Connelly, Croft, Dovich, Femi-Cole, Buford, Johannesson…that's 9 so far.

At this point if you don't trust Sawvel's eval process you never will. Who was that kid we thought he was going to sneak out of Alabama who FSU stole away at the last minute? Didn't that kid start as a true freshman on FSU's national championship team? Add him to the list. At this point a Gopher offer on a DB is a good offer sheet in my book.
 

The guy at FSU was Nate Andrews…we almost got him
 



The key is...can Sawvel teach him to not look back for the ball, like our GH experts think he should?

Did anyone see Willie Sykes tweet? Something along the lines of all the db spots are filled. I wonder if MN pulled his offer?

If such is the case, why would Alonzo jump on board? Is sykes afraid of competition? As the World Turns, so goes GopherHole.

Seems to me like they pulled his offer, why else would he be complaining?

And I think we now know for sure why Craigjton bumped up his announcement.
 

I thought we were going to be taking more than 4 DB's in this class? Thought I read that somewhere. Regardless, glad to see Alonzo commit!

You make yourself look like an idiot and you damage the reputation of the fan base as a whole.
 

He's a cb, craighton is a safety….the safety spot MIGHT be full, but we need more corners in this class…the DB class is not full….
 

I always assumed that one of the RBs we have taken commitments from was moving to Safety and that one was moving to LB. So we need 2 more corners for this class, but they have to be cover guys.

No argument there, definitely room for more DBs. But perhaps the coaching staff feels they are sitting well with a number of more talented prospects?

I know most people list him as a safety but Ryan Burns mentions him as a CB in his tweets and if you look on 24/7 at the Gophers offers by position he is listed under cornerback offers http://minnesota.247sports.com/Season/2015-Football/Offers.

As for Sykes saying the Gophers were full at DB I thought Burns or one of the other GI guys said earlier in the year that the staff was looking for 6 DBs for this class so if that is the case there was either some misunderstanding with Sykes or the staff may feel very good about DB targets they have higher on their list than Sykes. I hope it is just some misunderstanding because I'd really like to add Sykes and his skillset to this talented secondary.

I certainly don't know the situation, but I personally love the way Sykes handled this guy. Respectful, but really just told him to STFU.

I hope we have room for him.
