Allegations that Escorts Were Provided to Louisville Players and Recruits

Media and the local police don't look the other way here, like they do in other parts of the country. Delvin Cook and Jameis Winston would've never survived their scandals in a place like the Twin Cities
Good.

You are right. When we compare Roy to Rick, we can tell why Rick might be gone. People like Roy for the most part. Rick on the other hand has been nothing but an arrogant bastard. Many people don't like him. University will save face by letting him go. I agree with you that nothing will be added financially to them but they will gain their reputation back in a few years. Remember DC was one of the cleanest guys in this business. Rick had some big shoes to fill. As far as reputation goes he has been a PR nightmare.

I apologize, in advance, if you actually know Rick Pitino and know he's an arrogant bastard. I admit he comes across that way but so do many people who are at the top of their profession. I know everyone loves him when he's sitting behind Richard wearing his Gopher sweater and scarf. They love him when he's sitting next to his other son, who's dresses in a chicken suit, at Williams Arena. They love him when they think that his name and coaching legacy can in some way help the Gophers program. Then he's a legend and basketball genius. But for now he's an "arrogant bastard". All I got

I don't know who "everyone" is but it wasn't everyone on this board. Most thought it was cool the first time, less cool the second time...by the time they got to New York, it was..."okay we get it. Let Richard have his moment". Then his comments on Richard, the Minnesota job, ripping the talent he inherited, Alabama....I don't remember a lot of people loving him for that.

But hey, "everyone loves him"

Do you seriously think that Rick gives a damn about the Gophers????? He is helping his son not this program. He was hoping that his son would replace him at UL but the way that things are going, it may not happen. I am a former UK fan. Like I have said before, I used to worship Rick a lot more than his replacement at UK but I have learned that he only thinks and cares about Rick and Rick.

What a pu$$y. If the punter who blew the game at Michigan can face the media, Rick should be the first one in front of the mike.

My guess is they felt him being there would be a huge distraction from the players and other teams there. Not sure who made the decision though.

I don't think I ever referenced Rick Pitino caring about the Gophers. My point was how Gopher fans loved Rick when he was at the games and especially how they felt when there was this notion that somehow Rick could help the Gopher program. ("Maybe Rick could point some lesser recruits our way")

Rick Pitino may only care about himself, his name and his legacy. But I don't believe for one second that 99.9% of the people on this board wouldn't take a guy like that if it meant the success that comes with it.

You are right. You didn't. I do agree with your points. However, why did you have a sarcastic tone when I called him an arrogant bastard???? What does that have to do with people in MN. He has made a few bad choices. In one of them, at 1st, he forced his assistant to marry the woman. Later, she asked for more money and he took her to the court. In this case, this woman was much smarter. She had documented everything so he won't get away this time. He thinks that he can but many people say otherwise.

FWIW. I do like Rick. I like him around the program. And I still like him with these allegations. His public personality isn't off putting to me at all and as far as this "scandal" ? I don't really see it as a big deal at all. It's absolutely cheating and wrong and all that, but I just keep looking over at ole awe shucks Roy Williams about to contend for an NCAA title while the NCAA investigates Pacific and ESPN calls for Rick Pitino's head. The Gophers hold our heads in shame, fired Clem, etc. while UNC continues to dance and party with no NCAA problems.

I'd have a much easier time being outraged by this if cheating and misconduct wasn't happening multiple places and especially if the handling of treatment and coverage was even remotely fair and consistent.

Where to begin? Don't know where you would get any kind of "tone" out of a message board post but to be honest I was being sarcastic. If we want to call someone arrogant fine. I actually do think Rick Pitino is arrogant as are most successful head coaches. But to follow it up with bastard is where you lose me. Just my opinion.

As far as the extortion case, are you saying Rick Pitino forced then strength coach Tim Sypher to marry the woman he got pregnant? I had not heard that one. Is that fact or rumor? Finally, I don't think Pitino took her to court but reported her trying to extort him to authorities who in turn took her to court. As in filed charges and convicted her with a 7 year sentence.

Last, Katrina Powell was smart? Are you giving a woman who pimped out her own daughters because "they told me they wanted to" credit?

Rick Pitino might be the biggest scumbag ever. But I don't know if he is or not. I don't know him. I think we can both agree we both don't like the choices he's made. And yes I'm too sensitive for getting worked up over a post on GopherHole. That isn't sarcasm.
