All Things TV Series Recommendations/Reviews

I thought Season three was better than Season two but worse than Season one.

Do you think that Ava is going to get out of the show alive?

"Wonderful things can happen when you sow seeds of distrust in a garden of assholes."

After the last episode, it doesn't look good. (Think I'm an episode behind you. Just realized where your quote came from.)

TV Guide: Homeland Season 5 Scoop: A Massive Time Jump and Carrie No Longer a CIA Officer

The team behind Homeland dropped a bombshell on fans Friday night at PaleyFest when asked about the upcoming fifth season.

Alex Gansa, the co-creator of the acclaimed Showtime drama, revealed during the panel that the upcoming season will "jump two-and-a-half years" in the future. "We are going to be shooting the show in Europe, probably in Germany, and Carrie will no longer be an intelligence officer," he said.

Is anyone watching the network TV series, "Secrets and Lies" with Ryan Phillipe and Juliet Lewis? I thought I'd give it a shot and it's not TERRIBLE, but the Lewis character is just BAD, and overall the show reinforces that it's hard for a series on network TV to beat some of the work that's been done on HBO, Showtime, et al.

Looking forward to another season of HBO's "True Detective" but apparently that won't be out until summer and show knows when "Homeland" will be back; I'm sure it will be a while.

Anyone watching "Banshee", I think it's on Cinemax? I've been wondering if that's worth looking at. Again, I think it's just plain hard to beat the cable movie channels when it comes to a season series program.

Bleed, take along all of this year's episodes of The Walking Dead.

I've really enjoyed this season of The Walking Dead so far.

By the way.....Bates Motel starts back up tonight, Doc.

I like the show for the most part, but the detective is truly awful. You couldn't be more right.

Yes, I watched it. More intriguing episodes to come.

Norma and Norman are once again awesome. :)

THR: 'True Detective' Casts Porn Stars for Colossal Orgy Sequence

Amid the buzz surrounding the casting for True Detective's season two, the HBO drama recently made some unorthodox hires: porn stars.

Sources say at least two major talents in the adult film industry, Amia Miley and Peta Jensen, both 24, were hired for a deliriously vast, Eyes Wide Shut-caliber orgy sequence involving dozens of naked bodies. According to participants in the scene, the sequence was shot over the past few days in a Pasadena mansion. Season two stars Colin Farrell and Rachel McAdams were also present for filming.

After 4 episodes or so, I'm still watching, but barely. The Lewis character of the detective continues to be horrendous, just terrible casting, and the theme so far for the most part has been, take some newly discovered information, make some assumptions and jump to conclusions, only to find out it was all all wrong. If that continues, it'll get old, fast.

Nice update from the upcoming Season 2 of True Detective, Bleed!! It'll be tough to top the first season but they've definitely gone out and stocked it with stars again. I also hope Season 2 is longer than the 8 episodes we got from Season 1.

I'm still watching too, but to me it's simply out of boredom with nothing else to watch on Sunday nights usually.

Is the show entertaining? Sure, I'd like to find out what happens. Is the show well done? No way, it's very poor. I may finish. I may not. Although I'll give it props for being better than The Slap. Now if you really want to see a train wreck you should watch that pilot.

Can't wait for True Detective and Silicon Valley to start up again. I'll probably catch up on Homeland during these next couple slow months.

Caught up on the latest "Justified" (I think) and there HAS to be a shown down coming up between Raylan and the newly introduced character that fancies himself a gun slinger. The new guy is loquacious also.

No kidding. Didn't you get the feeling that is the only reason he's there? Wonder if he'll make it to the finale?

Did anyone see the Modern Family episode recently where the entire show was played out via Face Time? It was hilarious and brilliantly done. One of funnier 30 minutes of TV I've seen in a long time.

100% agreed. I thought I made almost this exact post here, but maybe that was somewhere else. Brilliant.

I was at a garage sale some weeks ago and picked up a boxed-set of "All Creatures Great and Small" VHS tapes. I've been told this was a TV series many years ago on PBS (that Brit channel). Anyway, I started watching some of the episodes and I have to tell you, this is fascinating stuff. No nudity to speak of and nobody uses the f-word, but if you think you might enjoy watching a veterinarian reach into a cow's vagina all the way up to his armpit, pull out a calf by its hind-legs and then try to dodge 12 liters of placenta cascading all over his shoes...this is for you!
By the way, the country vets pound the beer pretty hard - bloody sots!

Better Call Saul is excellent. It has potential for greatness.

You buried the lead...you still own a VCR?!

F.O.R.W.: Wait until you get a load of tonight's episode.

I would say it's good with the potential to be excellent. There are two episodes left in the season and the best word to describe it so far is "slow." The show needs to get back to Nacho.

Rob Thomas has done it again!!!

iZombie is a very fun show. Rose McIver plays Liv Moore, a medical intern who becomes a zombie at a boat party. She now works at the morgue (a great source of brains). A side effect of her eating brains is that she gets the memories, traits and abilities of the dead people. With those abilities, she helps out a homicide cop.

Another part of the show is her relationship with her ex-fiancé, who she broke up with in fear of turning him into a zombie, and her family. The third part is the plot of the guy who turned her into a zombie going around and screwing his way to creating a zombie army (and being Seattle's only brain dealer).

I have enjoyed the first 2 episodes.

For anyone who follows Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson has been dropped by the BBC after he assaulted a producer. From the sounds of it, May and Hammond are leaving too.
