All Things "Top 5" Thread (Movies, TV Shows, Cities, Countries, Actors, Beers, Restaurants, Athletes, Sporting Events etc.)

The Naked Time, Balance of Terror, The Doomsday Machine, Journey to Babel...it's too much.
Oh, and this Side of Paradise, where Spock sniffs a flower, laughs and fall in love.
And you have to have Arena, where Kirk fights the Gorn.

This is feeling like an Easter weekend film festival on the new TV!

I've always wanted to visit Vasquez Rocks, where they filmed Shore Leave, Arena, Friday's Child and others, and I will get there before I die. That's why I'm going to beat this virus!

Best country song of all time is "He Stopped Loving Her Today" by George Jones and there will be no discussion about that.

Best country song of all time. Let's discuss...

OK. That is definitely a good one. Like many others of Hank Williams. I'd put it on a par with the best of Johnny Cash and Marty Robbins like "Folsom Prison" and "El Paso" as all-time classics.

However, "He Stopped Loving Her Today" is just on another level, IMO. That song is its own thing.

I'm not a great country music expert but I do like Hank. That song stuck with me the first time I heard it and I still love it.

I kind of forgot Marty Robbins was country. I know him more by the Hawaiian album I own.

Love It!!!

Also really like “Honky Tonking” and “Mind your own Business” from Hank Sr.

As a short-form improver, here are my Top 5 Short Form Structures:

3. Blind Line - improvers have to insert mystery lines written on little slips of paper into the scene.
4. Party Guests - One improver has to guess the identity of the guests (played by the other improvers) at his or her party.
5. 185 - a line structure that is one joke - 185 blanks walk into a bar, the bartender says, we don't serve blanks here, punchline.

Love Sherlock and pretty much agree with your list. Did not like Series 4 at all -- too grim -- so liked that you didn't include any of those. The only episode I might add is His Last Vow. My wife and I have a running joke about going to our mind palace.

I thought with so few episodes (agree on season 4) that 5 would hard to get to. I had to cut some :(.

Top Five R.E.M. Albums:

1. Automatic for the People
2. Murmur
3. Out of Time
4. Life's Rich Pageant
5. Fables of the Reconstruction

I'm a huge REM fan, but for some reason Automatic for the People never struck a chord with me. I will listen to it with fresh ears for the first time in over a decade this weekend and will report back. Otherwise, my Top 5 REM Albums*:

1. Life's Rich Pageant (in my Top 5 for any artist)
2. Murmur
3. Document
4. New Adventures in Hi-Fi
5. Reckoning

*Dead Letter Office/Chronic Town combined on CD would fall somewhere on list list, but that feels like cheating the system. Same with the Unplugged '91 & '01 sessions (which I admit, I enjoy the Automatic for the People selections better than on the original release).

New Adventures is #6 for me. I agree on Dead Letter Office/ Chronic Town and the Unplugged albums. They're all fantastic. Love is All Around from '91 is a personal favorite. Have you heard Live at the Olympia? That is loaded with early stuff but recorded in the later years, especially stuff they didn't play as often live. It's so good.
