His Dad graduated from Jordan High School a couple years after me. I thought he was a hidden gem at the time. Glad to see his son getting recognized!

Very impressive as a freshman. Lots of potential there for sure and glad Pitino is in super early.

When did you graduate? I graduated in 1996 from St. Peter. My senior year I think it was his Hubmen team that knocked us out of the tournament. We had a 10 pt. lead in the 2nd half and he led the comeback (I think it was an OT game IIRC). He swatted one of our shots and I caught it on our bench.

Never thought I'd take a stroll down that Memory Lane on a GH message thread tonight.

Anyone who’s seen him play able to give an overview of his game? Player comparisons, strengths, weaknesses, etc.

I was a '92 grad and went to Gustavus. I watched from the railing at Lund when Tommy went hard to the baseline and hammered one with his head even with the rim. That was a really talented team.

Would like to think that type of thing is just an "icing on top" factor for most serious DI prospects choosing between P5 offers. Not like Kansas and Duke have amazing college football scenes. Etc.

but kansas and duke do have amazing college basketball scenes.

He'a high four star recruit and the 33rd ranked player, he's going to get a lot of attention and offers, if the Gophers start to slow play his recruitment then he is probably gone and has told Johnson as much.

Why in the world would the staff slow play their number one recruiting target? The idea seems ludicrous to me. Unless there is something in the shadows that we don't know about, there is no way this guy is slow-played.

Ben was hired in large part to up our chances at getting players just like this. Slow playing would be insane.

They are realists.
No, they are fcking losers that never have the belief or the courage to be a winner. It doesn't matter what has happen in the past. What matters is having the passion and drive to make it happen. Get it done. Losers beget losing and those that constantly foster that attitude will never win.

Being a realist does not make them losers. Plenty of realists are winners. The reality is that none of us know what this teenager wants or will do. There is always hope but the young man will choose whatever program is the best for him.
