All Things Summer Updates On Current Players

Some footage of Malik from an open gym in Boston this summer against some great college players.

He certainly adds a dimension we didn't have last year when Dre, Austin, and Joe on the floor. We should have good floor spacing this year. Teams are going to have to respect Dre, Austin, and Malik's 3 point shooting ability. I think we are going to be alot like Illinois was last year. We are going to live and die by the three.

How far we go this season may well be determined by Malik. Need him to shoot well. Our 3 guards should be slightly above average as is EE. The 4 is a question mark, and I know it's not a compelling reason, but our bench couldn't be worse than last season. I really feel Coach P. will need 2 full recruiting seasons. If we end up with over 4 scholarships this class, don't get too upset.

The more I see and hear about Malik the more I think we did really well trading Coleman for him. I think Dre, Austin, and Malik are going to make for an extremely lethal 3 guard line up.

Hard to tell what that means. Hearing good things, but he's a little behind?

I'm excited to see what this guy can do for us.

Probably that he has looked impressive (speed, basketball ability, etc.), but is behind in learning the system and plays.

Dre Mathieu is Drizzzzzyyy.

He adds a dimension they have so desparately needed for a few years, handle the ball, get some penetration, hopefully create oppertunities for the Hollins, Smith, and Mav.

The gophers back-court is going to be very crowded with a lot of good shooters, ball handlers & speed... It's too bad we can't play 5 v 5 all guards!

I think Dre Mathieu's value is going to increase as the season goes on. He's going to be really important to the press. Looking forward to watching him play.

Gosh, the NCAA ever going to decide on King? Sure want to hear good news on that issue.
