All Things P.J. Fleck Rumor Mill Thread - Listed as Candidate for Other Jobs

You don’t think he could win with a better talent pool? I get the argument that maybe it would be hard to recruit the true game changers with his RTB stuff, but I would love to see what he could do with real talent (preferably IN Minnesota!).
The RTB stuff is overrated. I guarantee you a five star QB won't care as long as Dave Portnoy is giving them $4 million a season and $10-12 million over there career. RTB isn't any different than the slogans every coach pastes around facilities. I think Fleck would be fine not having it on the helmet at Michigan

Pubs don’t count 🤓
Did you really just bring pubes as Spauldings luscious curls into the discussion? Fleck would win a lot at Michigan, the talent in their own back yard is a huge advantage. I would be sad to see him go if coach Fleck left, but I do think he is a legitimate coach, that Michigan would be lucky to poach. That is if they turn the search to coach Fleck.

The reason to target Fleck would not be for what he is as a coach, it would be for what you think the potential is of Drake Lindsey, Koi Perich, and company that he would bring with him.

RTB won't fly at Mich, to the extent of changing uniforms. They would absolutely slap it on merch and maybe put some signs up around the stadium.

lol, PJ ain't being hired by Mich

That’s insane

You don’t target a coach for the 13th best QB in the big ten

Yes, it was a joke with my friend Spaulding - an online towel snap. It was intended as innocuous jocularity, but if you were offended by it, my bad, my apologies.

LOL.
Holy fuck that's a bad take.

I agree, would he still be 13th starting at Mich?
I don’t think he will be 13th regardless next year but I don’t think he’d be top 5 at either place

Michigan has a 5 star recruit that looked average this year

I don't know what Michigan's recruiting profile looks like at WR, but if you put Drake on Ohio St instead of Sayian for instance, he's not just top 5, he's potentially in the Heisman convo. Give the kid a line and wide receivers and we're set.

IMO Underwood's rating was based more on physicals and pro potential, not pure passing/field generaling

I think you overrate Lindsey

He is good not great

At this point you gotta assume he’s at least on Michigan’s “break in case of emergency” list. And they might be getting close to that.

That’s what I’ve said from the beginning

He is a win per year worse than Dan Campbell and Campbell is a “home run”

At least you are consistent.

Unsurprising that RTB is the hardest sell for the helmet schools. I don't see Fleck dumping it to land a high profile job, either. It's woven into who he is and what his purpose is.
He’d seem like a fraud

lol what? Totally disagree.

FIFY

Michigan probably waiting for PJ to finish his season on Friday to pull the trigger.
