...from yesterday. Board packet indicates the plan is complete. We'll see what is said at the meeting tomorrow. It's a 2.5 hour meeting, but they may only have a few minutes to talk: athletic facilities plan.

Board then heads to Red Wing for a couple of days.. and now a press conference tomorrow as well.. don't expect much, but who knows - maybe they'll announce some impressive donation(s).

Starting to backpedel just in case?

If I'm reading the Regents meeting docket correctly @GoldenGopherAD should be delivering his report next. Watch here: http://z.umn.edu/ev6

190 for phase 1 of this whole athlete center! It's going to be sweet!!

Very cool. 190 million for phase 1 (a lot more than projected), will include men's and women's basketball practice facility, and will be privately funded. Fundraising must be going really well.

Photo of a rendering of the proposed basketball facility. Both the men and women's programs will have a court and a half.

Kind of hard to make out, but the current baseball and softball fields fit in on the right side of this layout.

This all looks really good. I like that he wants all the athletes in the same "village". He's got a good vision

Plus, per NCAA rules, the training table will be open to the public.

Good healthy food, and eat with athletes.

Can't the public have access to separate training tables? Why would they have to share that if there was other training tables and food for non-athletes?

I'm just reporting what Teague said in his presentation when the picture of the training table facility was shown.

Unless a big donor steps up with tons of money, this is going to be a looooong thread (i.e., ongoing "updates" for many years before there is a new bball practice facility).

Marcus tweet- #Gophers AD Norwood Teague said they've talked to some major donors about the basketball practice facility and have "gotten some nods."

What you thinking now GW? Didn't you consistently rip Norwood and his ability to get money and get this thing moving over and over and over............?

It all looks great and everything, but I was really hoping for something 'over the top.' My fear is that 6-8 years down the road when it's all finished, we'll have a state of the art facility circa 2005. I wanted something like a player lounge with a waterfall, or maybe something I don't even know about.

Are you just trolling or is this a joke? The original price tag was 80-125k... this is over the top.

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - University of Minnesota athletics director Norwood Teague estimates a new Gophers sports facility will cost $190 million over six to eight years. Teague said the project will be privately-funded, which should be music to the ears of taxpayers tired of pumping money into local sports.

Teague originally estimated an $80 million to $125 million price tag for a new Gophers sports complex.

The plan was presented before the university's Board of Regents on Wednesday.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?

The proposed Gophers complex would include:

- Academic center

- Training table

- Football complex

- Gymnastics facilities

- Olympic sports indoor practice facility

- Outdoor Olympic track

- Men's and women's basketball practice facility

- Wrestling training facilities

ALL IN

When asked if all coaches at the university have agreed to this proposal, Teague said "that's an understatement."

"They tear up when they see it, they're so happy," he said. "This is not just for football or basketball…this is for everybody."

The Olympic sports indoor practice facility would be available for all sports except football, which has its own complex.

LOCATION

The proposed location of the new Gophers facility is on 15th Avenue SE, between 6th Street and 8th Street – roughly the same city block footprint of the current facilities.

REGENTS RESPONSE

The regents called Teague's proposal a "nice change."

WHAT ABOUT WILLIAMS?

As for the aging Williams Arena, Teague said the basketball facility could get some work on the outer concourse in a second phase of the sports facilities plan.

That's all you can really do to Williams right now. There's no messing with the court or inner bowl area. The only thing I can see them working on inside the actual arena is the premium suites - maybe build something nicer way up there?

Teague has been a terrific AD thus far, I have no doubt he'll get this done.

I'm glad you asked: Minnesota's Facilities Plan Set Up for Failure

It's July and you come out with no renderings or design images, a $190MM price tag for the 'first phase' and a plan to do a fundraising feasibility study because the plan is that it's going to be fully privately funded? Scary.

The architect that designed the practice facility must be a true Gopher fan. The banners hanging by the basketball court are empty.

This proves Norwood is all in on Gopher sports.....and a few we're so worried about that when he was hired.
