Have to think it's going to be positive news, otherwise why hold a press conference?
To start the long, hard road of begging?

They've already started that, they've been caravan-ing around the state all spring/summer.

...from yesterday. Board packet indicates the plan is complete. We'll see what is said at the meeting tomorrow. It's a 2.5 hour meeting, but they may only have a few minutes to talk: athletic facilities plan.
Board then heads to Red Wing for a couple of days.. and now a press conference tomorrow as well.. don't expect much, but who knows - maybe they'll announce some impressive donation(s).
Plus, per NCAA rules, the training table will be open to the public.
Good healthy food, and eat with athletes.
Can't the public have access to separate training tables? Why would they have to share that if there was other training tables and food for non-athletes?
Unless a big donor steps up with tons of money, this is going to be a looooong thread (i.e., ongoing "updates" for many years before there is a new bball practice facility).
It all looks great and everything, but I was really hoping for something 'over the top.' My fear is that 6-8 years down the road when it's all finished, we'll have a state of the art facility circa 2005. I wanted something like a player lounge with a waterfall, or maybe something I don't even know about.
WHAT ABOUT WILLIAMS?
As for the aging Williams Arena, Teague said the basketball facility could get some work on the outer concourse in a second phase of the sports facilities plan.
Marcus tweet- #Gophers AD Norwood Teague said they've talked to some major donors about the basketball practice facility and have "gotten some nods."
What you thinking now GW? Didn't you consistently rip Norwood and his ability to get money and get this thing moving over and over and over............?
I'm glad you asked: Minnesota's Facilities Plan Set Up for Failure
It's July and you come out with no renderings or design images, a $190MM price tag for the 'first phase' and a plan to do a fundraising feasibility study because the plan is that it's going to be fully privately funded? Scary.
