All Things Minnesota Wild 2022-2023 In-Season Thread

It Minnesota vs Dallas. Game 1 is Monday night in Dallas. Game 2 is Wed night in Dallas.

Gotta love 8:30pm weeknight games. I’m sure the other game won’t go long so the wild will start right on time.

This season really phizzled in the end. At one point they were going to win the central and everyone was healthy. Now they are the 3 seed and JEEK has a broken ankle and Johansson has broken ribs. Plus they have not been playing great hockey as of late.

Hard to say for sure just yet (?) but it LOOKS like people can still watch a lot of the early round games of the Stanley Cup playoffs on their regional sports networks and not have to suffer the horrendous ESPN coverage of the games. Holy shit are they bad.

They really know how to help grow the sport and league with our youth by making games start so late none of them can watch the playoffs. Game now moved back to 8:50. I’m not sure I’ll even watch until the end.

You should really consider living in the Pacific time zone! It's flat out awesome. College football starting at 9am, NFL starting at 10am, and no issue watching games like this. ;)

Never thought I'd be so happy to see the playoffs start!!

NBA is just as bad if not worse.

They would rather have games stand alone and risk losing a few then have too much crossover.

That was about as good of a period as I could have asked for.

Great to get the PP goal late and not go into intermission 0-0.

I don't think Ryan Hartman is overall a bad player but man...he makes some absolutely dumbass mistakes.

Lol that fell apart quickly.

Jesus fucking christ.

Get some one who can win fucking face offs. Goddamn embarrassing.

Terrible in the dot and take terrible penalties.

This will be the year every Minnesota team makes the playoffs and they all lose in the frost round.

Dumba is such a f'ng tool. The Wild will be infinitely better off without him next season. I think it's a no-brainer for the Wild to not re-sign him.

Big goal!

Also Sam Steel has to be the porniest name in hockey, right?

The more Dallas continues to focus on Dumba revenge the better for us.

They are letting us control the play

Sad to see the initial posts ITT during game 1. There is enough negativity in the world and on most threads on this board. This is a very good game by two very good teams. Face offs are even. The score is even. Dumba and Hartman can be both great and frustrating. But they are both giving everything they have. The only two goals Dallas has are off PP draws, otherwise we have the upper hand. Shots are 29-15 Wild after 2. Let’s get this one!

Norm Green still sucks.
Fans weren't showing up on two for one ticket. Attendance was down. Wasn't allowed to make improvements to the Met. I'd move too. Norm had a bad thing going for him.

Two dirty cheap shot cross checks in the back of Kaprizov by Suter now in game one. That second one stung. If one of the subsequent games gets lopsided one way or the other, I look for Reaves or Foligno to cut Suter in half with a bone crushing cross check that might bust a couple ribs.

Beat me to it. He will pay at some point. If not in this series, first game next year will be a bloodbath.

Hes the absolute worst kind of coward in hockey too.

Does little dangerous cheap shit behind the play with his stick as his weapon. Runs from any opportunity to square up with someone. Done it for his whole career.

In all fairness, the Wild have established how they want the game to be played; if you can't dish it in, don't dish it out. The Wild have no recourse than to thug up the game like they have, those kinds of things are going to happen. Refs blew that one, no doubt, but it wasn't the worst cross check I've ever seen

Worst part of the Suter cheap shot is the Wild are still paying him!

Faber gave us some nice minutes.

We've been the better team when 5x5.

Gooo Wild!!

I disagree. The two “thug” plays by the Wild were both called. Playing physical in hockey is not “thug.” Dirty cheap shots away from the play on the other team’s superstar are the definition of thug. The strategy is to send a message that we are not going to be pushed around like we have in the past years. That’s why we signed Reeves. Foligno is having a great game. Both of those guys can play as well as hit.
