Damn. Anaheim is a bad, Bad, BAD hockey team right now (worst record in the NHL). Holy shit. Can't be giving up 4 goals and going to OT at home against the Ducks. No bueno, good to get the backup netminder some games though.

They are bad though the Wild does have their number

"The Wild have won 12 in a row against the Ducks, their longest win streak against an opponent in team history"

VANCOUVER - Filip Gustavsson stopped 35 shots for his first NHL shutout and Connor Dewar broke the Vancouver Canucks’ back with a short-handed goal as the Minnesota Wild used a 3-0 victory to end a two-game losing skid.

“It’s a relief,” said Gustavsson, who was playing in his 37th career game after being traded to the Wild in July from the Ottawa Senators. “It was really nice.

“It’s been close. You set a few small goals along the way. I wanted to win in the NHL and now we’ve got a shutout. Now we’re going to look at the next step.”

After a sluggish first period, the Canucks looked like they were climbing back into the game in the second..
Vancouver’s J.T. Miller sent a blind cross-ice pass in the Wild’s zone that Dewar intercepted. He skated the length of the ice and blew a shot over Canucks goaltender Spencer Martin’s blocker for his fourth goal of the year.

It was Dewar’s third short-handed goal of the season, leaving him tied for the league lead with Reilly Smith of the Vegas Golden Knights.

“I don’t know how many short-handed breakaways he’s got, but obviously he’s doing the right things in the penalty kill,” said Wild coach Dean Evason. “He’s got good wheels to continue getting breakaways in those areas.”..

Great 2-1 win tonight to take the season series 2-1 from Connor McDavid and a very potent Edmonton Oilers team.

Matt Boldy is heating up - he had another goal (PP) off a terrific set play feed from superstar Karill Kaprizov. Later Boldy sets up Gaudreau with a nice pass on a rush started with some nifty footwork from Edina’s own Sammy Walker - in his 2nd NHL game- who has infused energy and skill into the line with Gaudreau and Boldy. On that play, McDavid left his defensive assignment and it cost them the goal.

In my opinion, Walker should have been credited with an assist and his first NHL point on what was the game-winner. As it stands, Boldy was credited with the lone assist. In any event, Walker played excellent again and that line was buzzing all night.

Zucarello and Spurgeon also played very well. And, of course, so did the always dangerous Kaprizov. Fleury wasn’t asked to do too much until the final couple minutes, as Wild defenders kept the action in their end to the perimeter all night. He stopped 20 of 21.

This team is fun to watch. If Walker can be this year’s Boldy, that would really make a difference and take the sting out of the loss of Fiala.

Wild beat the Red Wings 4-1 at Xcel.

It's their 3rd win in a row and their 9th in the last 12 games.

Not sure if this is surprising, or not that surprising...

The new Forbes ranking lists the MN Wild as #22 in the NHL for overall team value, coming in at $850M.

Forbes New NHL Team Value Ranking

This may be a shitty source to get the list, I found the list somewhere else but linked the Forbes article here. It may even be a pay site, I don't know. It's easy to find if you want to look

EDIT: Wow, surprised, a little bit, to see the Kraken already up there at #10

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- — Mats Zuccarello had three goals and an assist, and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 28 shots as the Minnesota Wild beat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1 on Friday night for their fourth straight win.

Kirill Kaprizov had a goal and two assists, and Sam Steel added two assists as Minnesota’s top line continued its high-scoring ways. The trio has combined for 19 goals since the 24-year-old Steel was first matched with Kaprizov and Zuccarello on the top line 13 games ago. The Wild are 10-3-0 in that stretch..

This afternoon the Wild hosted the Ottawa Senators and beat them 4-2.

It was their 5th straight win and 9th in their last 11 games.

Great defense. Stifled Ottawa’s power play, which has been hot. Gustavsson has been great in net the past few games. And that top line- man. You can’t take your eyes off the game when they are out there.

They were due for a dud and they provided that last night losing to the Sharks 5-2. It was ugly from the get go as the Sharks scored in the first minute

Wild win again and are now 10-3 since trading for Reaves.

VGK misses Reaves more than they ever, ever thought they would. A lot of hockey folks don't like Reaves, say he's not a "real hockey player", blah, blah, blah... but he's a difference maker. It's not just him, but since he left Vegas, VGK is an unbelievably soft and non-physical team.

Reaves is trash. I won't stop rooting for the wild just because of him, but he's a garbage player.

I think he has a 1 year act on a team and needs a new place. He’s like Tort’s the guy has a 2 year act and gets 5 year contracts.

Wild go up to Winnipeg and beat the Jets 4-1.

They are now 20-12-2 and 1 point behind the Jets. Who are 21-13-1

And now they get worked at home by the stars. No answer for them in the face off circle or the power play.

That's a big discrepancy in Shot attempts.

Looks like the Wild need to be taking some advice from Lil Jon
