Hurt is visiting Wisconsin this weekend for the football game with 2018 forward Joey Hauser, 2019 C Nobel Days, 2017 commits Reuvers and Davison from MN and 2018 commit Tyler Herro.

Should be a fun night in Madison.

If there are no penalties, when do fans of the game start to formally protest the powers that make those decisions? Another indication that there are separate rules for the powerful and the rest. Not good for anyone. Tell me it was some former NC assistant AD that led the investigation, but since he is in a new position, he of course is objective.

If that's true, the NCAA better write a very persuasive justification for that result. On the face of it, that would be an outrageous outcome.

Shama offers no insight as to why Kansas leads for Hurt. In fact his follow up is that his older brother is a Gopher and the two grew up going to games at Williams Arena. Sounds like a rationale that the U had the lead.

I just checked the 247 crystal ball, and 4 out of 7 predictions are for Kansas, with 1 each for Minnesota, North Carolina, and Louisville, but the most recent predictions are from August 31st.

Had my first opportunity to watch Matthew live a couple of weeks ago when a high school team that I work with had a scrimmage against JM. It was one of a morning full of games that rotated in both varsity and JV players so Matthew only played 8ish minutes. He & the rest of the JM varsity players weren't giving a ton of effort for the most part.

Then all of a sudden Matthew came down the lane as a trailer on a fast break, got the ball and took off from a step inside the free throw line and threw down a dunk that shook the hoop. Our team's kids (and coaches/parents for that matter) all stood there frozen for a second with their jaws half way to the floor. It was a crazy display of athleticism.

Outside of that, he had a beautiful run-down block that pinned the ball about 2 feet up on the backboard, and a few nice assists.

Came away really impressed with how easy the game seems to come to him, and I'm sure that would ring even more true when he's playing full-speed during meaningful games.
 

Mr. Hurt and Pitino

Pitino was at the Tipoff Classic at Hopkins on Saturday. Wearing a grey sweatsuit?! Amir, Brady Budrud, and Michael Hurt were all sitting together watching the Hopkins JM game. Hopkins destroyed JM, and Hurt didn't have a big game. Looked a little frustrated by the size and strength of Joe Hedstrom, Hopkins' 6"10 junior big man. Still 30 and 10, though 12-32 shooting.

That was a tough game for Hurt. He doesn't have many options on his team so Hopkins just doubled him and had a few 6'8+ guys they could throw at him.

No he does not. Dedoch Chan is a division 1 mid major player or a very good player on a Northern Sun program, but other than that, not a lot of guys who can create their own shot. I think Chan has an NDSU offer, he's solid.
 

In his latest Scoops Podcast, Doogie said that Hurt had coaches from Kentucky, UNC and Louisville in to see him yesterday.

Close, but there is no "Marshall" high school in Rochester. Makes it sound like he's from Marshall, MN. If you want to shorten it, say JM.
