Q&A with D1 Minnesota standout Kendall Brown - He talks about the competition on the Gauntlet & more
D1 Minnesota forward Kendall Brown is regarded as one of the top class of 2021 prospects in the nation and for good reason. Brown’s versatility makes him a very tough matchup and he continues to expand his game. He spoke about what makes him a special prospect and much more.
Q: What would you say has made this team so successful?
A: “We really focus on our defense and that’s what pride ourselves off of. If we bring it on the defensive side, we will have many victories to follow.”
Q: How would you describe the talent here at the Adidas Gauntlet?
A: “It’s really aggressive with a lot of big bodies and you can’t be soft with the ball. They are going to attack you.”
Q: What schools have been really active with you?
A: “Oregon, Indiana, Ohio State, Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota and the list goes on.”
Q: What visits have you gone on so far?
A: “I’ve gone on visits to Creighton, Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, Minnesota and Saint Louis.”
Q: You have a mix of schools recruiting you from all over. Is location a factor for you?
A: “Location is a factor, but it’s about whatever school best fits me. The connection I have with the coaches and the people around me is what really matters.”
Q: What would you say makes you stand out as a prospect?
A: “I would say I’m a big guard so I can get players the ball with easy dunks and easy threes. I can score the ball and I’m really good in transition. I’m also a tough matchup with my size.”
