Exactly, if he was fully set on Providence would have done it right after the visit, or right after MN coaches were there, telling them thank but no thanks. Clearly is on the fence, and with MN being further from home, I imagine distance is an issue, leading to more hesitation, but more time = MN more likely! I did a mathematical equation on it, its true.

Definitely still in this race. Branham and Jerry are typically spot on so Pierre must be a tough one! Lol.

I think Ben comes off as very trustworthy and wise beyond his years. Must have been a productive visit.
 


I'm still waiting for whalenfan to provide details on what is happening.

EDIT: Now I'm waiting for whalenfan to let us know WHAT the heck happened...

I’m sorta unclear on if this guy has inside information or not, but he makes predictions about Gopher basketball recruiting, and he says Miles Byrd is no longer visiting Minnesota. I believe the quoted tweet also had a reply from Doogie, which has since been deleted, stating that Byrd will not be visiting Minnesota.

Well, he does have 365 followers, so I don't know how he could not be in the loop.
He also follows 345 handles, so it's not a lot of organic growth...just following people to get a follow.

Take a look at about all of his recent tweets, he is ahead of the radar on everything. Only thing he’s gotten wrong I think is Jayden Pierre, but I think we were all wrong in that field.

But is he ahead? Or does he just have a subscription to 247/The Gopher Report? Because it’s all on there before he’s tweeting it.

well if he subscribes to 247/The Gopher Report then yes he certainly is ahead of most people on here....does it really matter where he gets his information from?
 

GopherCrew is not an insider. There is another twitter handle GopherScoop that seems to be in that same vein where they put out info as their own that is available elsewhere.

As for subscribing to the pay sites, I'd suggest you read them when they have a free preview. They definitely have some information, and I am a fan of both Ryan James and Ryan Burns (don't know anything about the Rivals guys), but there are people here who know things too. 247 was way off on the coaching search for example and most of that (wrong) information was on this board as well (maybe from someone who subscribes).
 

Gopher Crew definitely tweets stuff that he passes off as his own thoughts/idea after having read it somewhere else. It happens too often to be a coincidence. That’s why I stopped following him on Twitter.

I think the primary goal will be spring/transfers etc, but I don't think they'll completely stop looking for fall class, if they find fit, they'll go for it

Bummer on Pierre though

I hope spring transfers are not where we are headed next. Sure, we will need a few but this should be a 5 man frosh class is we are going to start building from the ground up. One of the raps on Pitino was not filling out classes and going shopping in the spring.

I don't think it'll all be transfers, but they're only going to take so many freshman, I'd think they want at least another freshman, maybe two. And they can still get Freshman in spring.

The other spots they'll look to Juco's and transfers to try balance classes out a bit

And for Fall, no, they're not going to give up, but I'm not going to panic if they don't get another fall commit, but I would prefer to see one-two more
