Did PJ’s “Year Zero” excuse rub off on the Gopherhole staff? This would be his second class.

Danny Wolf took an official visit to Minnesota last summer, then we seemed to kind of zero in on Payne as our guy. Noticed he just committed to Yale last week.

Sure doesn't look excited to play for them...

Dodd is a bettter player than this. Flabbergasted this is all he gets.
Probably the result of players in the portal, are higher mid majors taking guys that have proven themselves at lesser schools leaving most of the openings in the lower D1 schools.

Has anyone heard anything about Elvis Nnaji in a while? I remember we offered him back in 2020 but haven't heard or seen anything about him committing anywhere. Did his stock just plummet or did we lose interest in him after the coaching change?

His stock took a major hit. He has never been consistent. High major sometimes but disappears a lot more

DJ Jefferson committed to Tennessee yesterday. He's the kid who went to prep school here in Minnesota. He was previously committed to Tulsa, but decommitted after Frank Haith left. Apparently he's also a 4 star now. He didn't have an offer from us, and I don't think he was even in the top 150 last time I checked.

Just saw that online and came to post. Was surprised at Tennessee and a 4* now. We should have got him

It's possible he got a lower ACT score than PJ, which may have relegated him to a mid-major school. He certainly isn't ready for the B1G, at least from the times I watched him play.

ACT OR SAT scores have nothing to do with whether he can qualify for a a power 5 or mid major school. Many mid majors have higher admissions requirements than power 5 schools. And big name power five athletic departments have an “ability” to get lower ranking students admitted.

So...Dodd is simply not good enough for the B1G. Why then would anyone pine for him to be on scholarship at UMN?
