I only made it to a few fall practices. I think pitching will be better. Morton was sitting 93-94 on fastball and touched 96, and looked like good secondary stuff as well. Urban also looked like he had an uptick in velocity. Whelan had a good summer. Other additions looked like they will contribute on mound, and with guys back from injury (Selvig, Capamoccio), and returning experience (Sperry, Hemmesch), I am bullish on the pitching. For those that follow more closely than me, what do you think we got for a team this year? Big 10 tourney, NCAA at large?

Hitting could be OK if a couple transfers pan out and a couple of returners improve and are more consistent and healthy (Sutherland, Martin, Spanier) join Neels and Richter.
I don't know on defense...just not sure how good some of the incoming position players are defensively.
A NCAA tournament bid would be a fairly big jump, but with an easier non-conference slate and assuming they don't suffer injuries like a season ago, I think better record and Big 10 tourney are certainly achievable.
Announced it on instagram yesterday, big pickupRumor is Max Arlich is transferring to Gophers from Arizona State. Big if true.
As a true freshman he had 14.1 IP, 13 H, 3 ER, 10 BB, 13 K, 1.88 ERA
For Northwoods league last summer 30.0 IP, 23 H, 10 ER, 15 BB, 23 K, 3.00 ERA
One of the best prep pitchers in Minnesota for last 25 years.
