Hot Take for 2026. Harrison Smith signs with a different NFL. Leading people to speculate about the 2025 Viking lockerroom
You win the internet
Someone looking for another banning??Hot Take for 2026. Harrison Smith signs with a different NFL. Leading people to speculate about the 2025 Viking lockerroom
Hard to believe this team was one win away from the playoffs
Yes both are true. If Vikings win one more, they are in. But also if the Packers had lost instead of tied against Dallas, the Vikings are also in.I think the Vikings were 1 fewer tie by Green Bay (vs Dallas) from making the Playoffs.
It would have made them Both 9-8.
> Head to Head, split.
> Division Record, both 4-2
> Common Games, Vikes 8-4 and Packers 7-5
I welcome anyone to quality check my findings.
Of course in this alternate reality, the Vikings would have had to beat a much different line-up/game plan than the Packers put forth this past Sunday.Yes both are true. If Vikings win one more, they are in. But also if the Packers had lost instead of tied against Dallas, the Vikings are also in.
A tie it is thenI think the Vikings were 1 fewer tie by Green Bay (vs Dallas) from making the Playoffs.

We are living in the upside down.Perhaps he just wants the headline.
Addison has a ton of talent but I'd trade him for a first and re-sign Nailor. As good as Addison is, I'm not sure I want to be the organization negotiating with him the next few years.Addison arrested last night in Florida. Good job buddy

Should have traded him already. Ugh.Addison arrested last night in Florida. Good job buddy

You can put up with this stupidity when he's on a rookie deal. If you're paying him the going rate for a good free agent WR, I think it's a risk not worth taking. I'm no FA expert, but looking at WR contracts, I would assume he's at least in the $18MM/year neighborhood as a floor (avg/year highlighted below). Add in the drops, and I'm looking elsewhere.Addison arrested last night in Florida. Good job buddy

Probably right. No one is giving up more than a mid round pick for Addison at this point
For a mid round pick, I'd rather just hang on to him, hope his value sky rockets and if it doesn't let him sign elsewhere and get the compensatory pick.
Purely a guess but if the Vikings could get a 3rd, that would be a huge gift at this point. I think the course of action you suggested is spot on.For a mid round pick, I'd rather just hang on to him, hope his value sky rockets and if it doesn't let him sign elsewhere and get the compensatory pick.
When I look at these names, it makes me think paying Addison might be worth the risk. He's much better than Deebo, Godwin, Diggs, Kirk, Jeudy, Kupp, Shakir, Mooney, Bateman, Slayton, Hunter. You can put up with this stupidity when he's on a rookie deal. That list is depressing if you're in the market for a WR and Addison is clearly better than all of those guys. It appears to be a decent Draft for WRs and the guy I really want is Elijah Surratt if he's still there in the 2nd Round. He reminds me of Mike Evans. When I look at these names, it makes me think paying Addison might be worth the risk. He's much better than Deebo, Godwin, Diggs, Kirk, Jeudy, Kupp, Shakir, Mooney, Bateman, Slayton, Hunter.
If his next deal is going to be around $18M, would you rather him, baggage included or any of those guys making less than him?
that's not really a fair way to weigh it. One Addison has to think that's what he's worth and 2, it's with the caveat of what's the cut on your roster to pay Addison another 15-20mil from his 3.When I look at these names, it makes me think paying Addison might be worth the risk. Neither. I think your point is valid - those guys listed are below him in production/value. I'm going with the consensus and re-signing Nailor if you can get him on a reasonable contract and maybe drafting somebody next year. When I look at these names, it makes me think paying Addison might be worth the risk. Pickens is a decent comp. However, Pickens has much more baggage than Addison that very much likely limits has value. Based on the fact that he's not a malcontent on the team, and that his legal offenses are largely "low level", I'd be willing to bet there are numerous teams willing to give him a contract at market value, not devalued. I'm looking at you, Raiders/Cowboys/Browns that continually make monumentally dumb personnel choices.Probably right.
For comparison sake, last year the Steelers traded George Pickens and a 6th for a 3rd and a 5th. They have similar stats and I'd guess somewhat similar value.
Addison first three seasons:
46 games
175 Rec
2396 yards
22 TD
Per game average: 3.8 rec - 52 yards - .48 TD
Pickens first three seasons:
48 games
174 rec
2841 yards
12 TD
Per game average: 3.6 rec - 59 yards - .25 TD
I don't know what is more dangerous, paying George Pickens or planning on franchising him two years in a row. There are moments where he looks as good as anyone in the league. It feels like if you're Dallas, you have to keep him.Pickens is a decent comp. However, Pickens has much more baggage than Addison that very much likely limits has value.
