Also just 1.5 Games back for the 3rd Wild Card, which would currently be the 17-18 White Sox.

This looked rather painful on the video for former Twin Emilio Pagán. Not often one sees a Pitcher get carted off the field. Only ones I could recall were from taking a line drive off the head.

Pagán went down in a heap. Pulled hamstring.

Great to see Jeffers’ production and hope he keeps it up

In April, Jeffers slashed .324/.446/.559, with four homers and 17 RBIs. Had he finished with enough PAs to qualify, he’d be seventh in the majors by wRC+ for April (181), one spot ahead of Matt Olson (180 wRC+) and one spot behind CJ Abrams (182 wRC+)

Apologies Mr. Larnach as you’ve gone to another level in your career at this point, with a gaudy .295 avg and improved defense. Kudos as I’ve always loved your sweet left hand stroke.

I thought resigning you was inane and it wasn’t.

Some nice stats from Dan Heyes’ column today regarding Larnach’s production -

Overall, he’s hitting .288/.418/.425 with 11 RBIs. On Tuesday, he extended his career-best on-base streak to 19 games.

One key has been Larnach’s patience. He’s significantly increased his walk rate this season to 18.4 percent, up from 10.2 percent for his career. He’s also cut his strikeout rate to 17.3 percent, down from 34 percent three seasons ago.

After three seasons of below-average defense, Larnach is a plus defender in left field this season. He made a nice leaping catch to take away an opposite-field hit from James Wood in the second inning, keeping up with a season in which he’s produced three Defensive Runs Saved.

Also just 1.5 Games back for the 3rd Wild Card, which would currently be the 17-18 White Sox.

Only 3 teams in the entire American League that are .500 or better.

Another former Twin sustains a potentially serious injury. Carlos Correa hurt his left ankle during BP.

That was actually his good one.

He's done for the year. Hmm. Maybe those other teams knew what they were doing when they pulled his contract offer off the table.

Bummer to see a potentially HoF Career for Correa go completely off the rails due to injury.

At least the Twins cut bait in 2025.

Except for the $10 million check the Pohlad's have to cut the Astros for 2026, 2027 and 2028. That is very painful for them. Correa is our 3rd highest paid player.

I'm not an actuary, but I would guess the Pohlad's are relieved they are only paying Correa $10 million not to play in 2026 instead of $31.5 million to not play as he was scheduled to earn, 100% from the Twins had he remained in Minnesota for 2026.

Boom. With his 6.23 ERA I assume he's our new closer...

Here is an article posted by the Twins’ MLB writer

The Twins continued their bullpen shuffling on Wednesday, acquiring right-hander Yoendrys Gómez from the Rays for cash considerations.

Gómez, 26, was designated for assignment by the Rays on Saturday. To make room for him on the 40-man roster, Minnesota designated Triple-A right-hander Christian Roa for assignment. No move was made on the 26-man active roster yet, but Gómez is expected to be added in the coming days.

“It should be over the next couple days,” manager Derek Shelton told reporters Wednesday. “Logistically, travel-wise, when you acquire someone, it takes a little bit of time. What do we expect? I mean it’s a big arm. It’s a guy we saw in Spring Training a couple times. We really liked him, but it just adds some velocity to our bullpen.”

Gómez has averaged 94.9 mph on his four-seam fastball this year, up from 93.8 last year. He also throws a sinker, cutter, sweeper and occasional changeup.

He has appeared in parts of four Major League seasons for the Yankees, Dodgers, White Sox and Rays, making nine starts for Chicago last season. Gómez has been an inconsistent performer in the Majors, but he has 157 strikeouts in 130 career Triple-A innings.

Minnesota has a few options for how to make room for Gómez on the active roster. Veteran Luis García has scuffled, though he was effective in his most recent outing. García also does not have Minor League options, so he would have to be waived in order to be removed from the roster.

Another potential candidate is rookie John Klein (Twins' No. 20 prospect), who can be optioned. The Twins are currently light on starting pitching depth, so returning Klein to starting at Triple-A St. Paul would be potentially valuable for the organization.

Sign Kopech and someone else form this list. Anyone. They have to better than what we have. And for God's sake bench Josh Bell and play Martin every day. Bell now has worse #'s than Wallner.

Unfortunately, it was Louis' brother Gus recording the Save for the Nationals this afternoon.

I wonder how close we get to this number?

Relief Usage: While the 2025 Mets hold the overall record for pitchers, the 2019 Boston Red Sox ran up 632 total relief appearances by 23 different pitchers, a testament to high-turnover bullpens in the modern era

Farm Injuries Update -

Walker Jenkins, who has been sidelined with a left shoulder sprain since slamming into an outfield wall Sunday, started physical therapy after receiving a cortisone injection. Following two weeks of rest and rehab, the Twins will reevaluate Jenkins’ progress.

• Emmanuel Rodriguez, who was placed on the IL with a left thumb strain Wednesday, is expected to need a short absence to recover from what Hassan described as a muscular injury.

“There’s nothing ligament-related,” Hassan said. “There was some swelling around the muscle, which was great news.”

Twins pitcher Mick Abel to miss more time after reporting soreness in different

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Mick Abel won’t be returning to a mound for the Minnesota Twins just yet.

The team said Thursday the young right-hander received a cortisone shot in his right triceps after reporting soreness following a Saturday bullpen session. Twins assistant general manager Alex Hassan described the soreness as “the back of the tricep or a tricep impingement” and said Abel will be reevaluated Tuesday. Abel, who is 1-2 with a 3.98 ERA in four games and 16 strikeouts in 13 scoreless innings spanning his last two outings, originally landed on the injured list on April 20 because of right elbow inflammation.

“Before, it was in the front of the joint,” Hassan said of Abel’s injury. “Still a little bit of soreness. He got the cortisone. … Once we get him throwing, we’ll know when he’s going to get (back on) the mound and then can build a timeline from there.”

After falling back to -0.5, a big game last night got him back to -0.1 entering today.

Homered tonight. It might be...it could be...

All the way up to 0.6 now!
