All Things 2025 Playoffs and Bowl Thread

"
The worst games were when corners were out and we got destroyed with backups in the game.

I don’t think Collins did a good job adjusting to his lack of depth"
What does that have to do with the cal game?

Yards allowed by game:
Northwestern 525 and 38 points
Oregon 510 and 42 points
Ohio state - 474 and 42 points
Michigan State - 467 and 23 points
Purdue - 456 and 20 points
Rutgers - 387 and 28 points
Cal - 340 and 27 points

Whoops just realized this is not the appropriate thread for this. Ceasing now

Gotta hit on defense in the portal. These games are slobber knockers between top teams.
Second level players are way better for these top teams.
People talk about DL but Lbs who can run number to number and can also take away the middle in zone coverage are helpful to a defense

Maybe it's because I'm in my late '40s, but I love defensive football. It's fun to watch good teams play good defense.

This is where coaching makes such a huge difference.

Oregon has held the ball for 22 minutes, running 50+ plays

Letting TT hang around, though. Can’t run the ball.

Yep, and aversion to field goals in a defensive battle is almost coaching malpractice. I understand they've been successful on 4th down during the year, but not against this defense. Should be up 9-0 or 12-0.

An Iowa football game has broken out but the coach thinks is mike leach vs chip Kelly

The Oregon defense just told Lanning if he’s going to keep fucking it up they’ll take matters into their own hands

Makes you wonder if that will be part of the push to have 16? We’ve seen this for two straight years across an awful lot of teams where they come out struggling after the layoff
Long grind of the season, you take some time off, stop thinking about the game, go home and have some home cookin .... on papers seems like the right thing?

In practice, maybe not?

Gonna have teams opt out of conference championship games pretty soon just to avoid the bye

A two score lead seems like Oregon just iced the game the way things are going. Tech's defense is great but it's hard to see how they scored over 42 ppg.

Oregon is legit really good. Maybe the best team left along with Georgia IMO.
