All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings Off-Season Thread

The team that won 14 games last season also won free agency.
Now nail that first round draft pick.

Yes, I would go bpa at dt, iol, or cb. Everything bring equal, would go dt.
Agreed. That's the spot I question the most. I don't really trust Hargrave or Allen. DT for depth, development, or just in case one of them is complete crap would be nice.

If the numbers quoted are close to correct, they have very little cap space still available. Probably have to go bargain basement hunting after some of this initial smoke clears.

This is from Alec Lewis.

Still waiting on Jackson and

Some guy on KFAN said that they have a good amount of money left.

I wish we knew.

Zeitler is sitting there at RG. I think Jenkins could play RG. He started at RT. Becton won't come here, he doesn't like our assistant OL coach.

There's some ok CBs still available. Mariota, Flacco, and other solid QBs are sitting there.

Free agency is looking great.

Cant be true, can it?

I had to take a look, just for the heck of it. While it sure seems like a wildass rumor, I guess this "Playmaker Dave" on X has a pretty impressive track record of accuracy.

I'll believe it when I see it, but damn, that would be something

If the rumor is true, what would you expect the price to be? 2025 & 2026 FRPs? Addison included instead of one of the FRPs?

This will help, for sure. Vikings are going to get the first Comp pick awarded in the 3rd round this year:

3-97: Minnesota Vikings

97th pick in the draft is nothing to sneeze at, when you are as short on picks this draft as the Vikings.

Barring a rockstar available when they're on the clock in the 1st round, I would think they will try to move back for a few more picks

Could be shaping up like a solid veteran QB away from a strong Super Bowl run, like 2009 ........ ???

Regardless, as I feared, both Darnold and Jones are gone. I just don't think you start McCarthy in week 1 after his injuries. You can't throw away the first 6-10 games while he comes up to speed.

McCarthy will have his time, maybe even later in this year.

A one year bridge guy is important and sounds like we have the money.

We already went through a bridge QB. Stop with this nonsense about throwing the first 6-10 games away. Bo Nix went to the playoffs last year. Jayden Daniel’s went to the NFC championship game.

Stop with all of this worrying about JJ McCarthy.

Yup.

The staff and Front Office have seen 100 times more of JJ McCarthy than any of us have, and they let Darnold and Daniel Jones and even Nick Mullens walk away. They are going all-in on JJM and I trust them explicitly to make that call.

Have to admit, it'll be interesting to see who they bring in for the backup. Whoever it is, I suspect most people won't like it

Agree. No reason we can't win right away with JJ if surrounding cast is good, which at moment, appears to be.
And you say injuries. He's had 1, a torn meniscus. Not like he's this injury prone skeleton of what he once was.
