All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

Why is KOC calling timeouts to allow Chicago more chances to gain yardage? Unless you have all 3 left it makes zero sense. If Chicago is content on a 50+ yarder, let them.
Bears would have had a 55 yarder FG if KoC doesn’t take that last TO.

Vikings averaged 5.2 ypc and yet KOC only calls 22 run plays and 32 passes... He just will not adapt his playcalling to the team's strengths right now.

Even better McCarthy and Williams were both 16-32 passing McCarthy 150 yards and Williams 193 yards. The two picks were the difference...

There was some good news from this game.

Dallas Turner had 7 tackles, a sack, and another tackle for a loss. I almost think they were double teaming him in the 4th.

Not an excuse for his inaccuracy, but it will be interesting to see how many dropped passes there were - gotta help the kid out.

It was better today. Both in running and not calling every pass 20 yards down the field. JJ missed throws and there 4 drops.

Extend Qwesi?
No thanks right now. His drafting has not been good so far. We are WAY too old of a team right now. Very little young depth... Gotta have better draft picks. His free agent signings have been good up until this year. This summer's "haul" is NOT looking very good right now.

Agreed on the drops. Both teams had the drops today. Must have had the heat turned up a little too much so guys hands were sweaty on both sides.

4 Ls at Home so far, brutal. Just as many Vikes victories in London as Minneapolis.

Uffda.

Guaranteed, tomorrow KOC will say that JJM had a bad hand, and played through it and they are so proud of him.

In addition, why not a few read options just to make teams account for JJM keeping the ball once in awhile?

JJ McCarthy Just have to work on the fundamentals and mechanics. May also need ovo lasik and lens. Dr whiting did the lasik for corpy coves tiny eyes.

I’m not excusing the drops. But does it get into the receivers heads when JJM is airmailing throws left and right, or does his best Athan impersonation and can only throw a 100mph fastball, no matter the situation?

The drops have noticeably gone up while JJM is the QB.

Well, when you draft like azz......................

Well they did draft and aquire enough talent to go 3-2 in Road/Neutral games.

Winning at Home should in theory be easier, but if they just equaled that they would be 6-4 and in solid position to advance to the Playoffs.

don't really see a reason to get a QB. If JJ goes down, the season is really going to be about evaluating what they have on the roster as they weren't going to find a FA or trade deal gamebreaker anyway so see what you have in Max to find out if you're going to cut him or keep as your clipboard guy if need be
Especially as next year they NEED to hit some things in the draft so you need all the draft capital you can have
This guy.

A positive amid the loss. O-line coming together. Not a lot of pressure on JJ and ran it pretty well. If Darnold had that protection end if last year, result might have been different. Think our rookie LG might be there for 12 years or so.

This next draft has to be Kwesi's last chance.
He is perhaps fortunate just received an extension or Wilfs might come calling after this season. Wilfs can't be pleased.

If Vikes finish last in the North, these teams will likely be on their 2026 schedule:

NYJets
Miami
Tennessee
New Orleans
Atlanta
Carolina
Arizona
NY Giants
