All Things 2025 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

Twins, undefeated under the lights in 2025.

Look at them go now. Start planning the World Series parade route.

No, no, no, no...

TOO MUCH ENTUSIASM. This is Minnesota, after all. AND... it's Gopher Hole.

Please return to the normal accepted default position:
FIRE this one.
TRADE that one.
BENCH the other one.
All is lost.
We're doomed.

# Hey, can you blame us? Minnesota Sports! We're eternal losers!!!!!

The whole division lost except us.

Tied for first or tied for last......all depends on perspective. All teams 2-4

A 34 Year Drought in the Championship Round in the 4 major professional sports tends to bring a collective fanbase down and skew negative for some reason.

Can't ask for a better top of the first inning. Ryan struck out the side at the home opener

Reusse with a spot on column and proposal.

And it will never happen. Ever.
The season is too long. Last year opening day was March 28 and if the WS had gone 7 games it would have ended on Nov 2. That's 219 days. The further baseball goes into football season the harder it is to keep people interested.

They should cut back on the playoffs but like you said that will never happen. So expand the roster sizes and have teams play more scheduled DHs. Something like every team plays 2 Saturday traditional DHs per month. Teams can make up most of the ticket revenue by charging extra for a DH.

I think the bigger issue with playing more DHs is the regular season afternoon games get lower ratings. Also, I'm not sure what the standard is now, but there has been times when FOX has exclusive broadcast windows on Saturday.

I would be good with reverting back to a 154 Game Schedule, which is how it was until 1961 but that is also not likely to happen (4 fewer home gates and 8 less games of TV-streaming inventory).

Going this route would eliminate about 2 weeks off of the regular season. So it would mean two less Tuesday games, Wednesday, etc. A Saturday afternoon ratings is less than Saturday evening but probably still higher than most games during the week.

I know hitting is cyclical, but geez, these guys haven't improved at all from last year. So frustrating to watch. Correa gets a fastball right down the middle and can't barrel it up.
