All Things 2025 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

In addition to the numbers, Joe Pohlad would like to maintain control of the team. Um.
I see very little chance of any new Ownership group shelling out over $1.5 B and then allow Joe Pohlad to hang around beyond at most 1 year/season. Just makes zero sense, given his lack of any track record.

Maybe their play is to seek out a minority owner to get rid of all or most of of the debt?

The Boston Celtics are letting the old ownership run the team till 2028. It just seems like a weird arrangement

Weird but more understandable given recent NBA Championship success and as a way to keep the Basketball Operations intact with Stevens.

Still shelling out more than $6 B you would think would come without any strings attached (unless there were multiple qualified bidders).

Finally some progress. At least for both people that get Paul Bunyan cable. Now do Comcast and Directv.

Thanks for posting this. Came on here to see if I can watch them on Comcast and it seems like the answer is: “we still don’t know yet”

Gosh I hope they figure this out. I thought there was supposed to be an update on 3/20 but seems we’re still waiting

The Dobber makes the Twins Opening Day Roster as a long reliever.

Money well spent.

I'm sad to learn that Uff Da Communications is not a real cable company.

Still no Comcast on the list nor what's important to me, Spectrum.

I don't think it's clear that DirecTV is on board yet either. They've been saying it will be on 668 for weeks, but that's the same channel a FanDuel and I think there's confusion. All of the other MLB teams that did this last year have stand alone chanels, not sub-channels of their old RSN.

Anyway, first pitch is in 48 hours no rush or anything.

Doogie on SKOR North said he is sure games will be available in some fashion on DirectTV, for those that at least are already paying for the Sport Tier package.

He also mentioned that there will be a Twins Package for Over-the-Air games, virtually every Tuesday. It will not be either of the Hubbard owned stations (KSTP 5/45).

I have Direct TV with the Sports Package. FD North (Channel 668) is not showing the Thursday game on their schedule but is being shown on FD Midwest (Channel 671) for the St. Louis market.

Disastrous for the Twins and MLB...and par for the course lately. Frustrating.

It obviously can't be on FanDuel, but they are claiming it will be on 668-3 (possible) but somehow on 668 itself on DirecTV Stream which makes no sense. FanDuel will not be off the air during the Twins game so they can't share a channel.

My guide no longer shows most of the RSN's outside of FD Sports North. Not sure why.

668-2 and 668-3 currently showing "To Be Announced" on their channel guide. They have the Michelle Beadle show scheduled for their primary 668 channel.

Yeah, but they say that by default 90% of the time.

Home games, right?
Home/road makes no difference. If you live in the Twins TV territory you either have to have the Twins.TV subscription or have it carried by your regular TV provider.

That sucks. At least give you away games.
The road games are just as valuable to the local TV/Streaming providers as are the home games which is why they are currently also protected.

Doesn't MLB give the teams a piece of their action?

Yeah (1/30th after overhead and a small slice to the league office) but that's not the point.

If those that bought the MLB package (or get freebie via T-Mobile) included games in the local market, then an entity such such as MSN-FSN-BSN-FanDuel's broadcast-streaming rights would be undercut.

In current day far fewer would sign up for the Twins.TV streaming package $99 for the season.
