All Things 2025 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

Well, at least I got to watch live as the Braves took a 3-3 game in the top of the 8th to an 11-3 lead, and then watch the Reds match those 8 runs in the bottom of the 8th.

I don’t think I’ve even seen a 16 run inning.

I actually saw it (on TV) earlier this year on Good Friday. Diamondbacks put up a 10 spot in the T8. Cubs rallied back with 6 and held on the 9th to fly the W Flag.

"I’ve been wanting to play third base for the past couple of years, but it wasn’t happening in Minnesota,” Correa said. “We were waiting for a shortstop to come in and now that I get to play third base it would be great for me at this stage of my career.”

They moved a guy from SS to 3B so you could stay at SS.

They also moved a guy from SS to 2nd to allow Correa to stay at SS.

Correa is obviously the root of all the Twins failures. Thank heaven he's gone. Now we can sing:

We're gonna win, Twins!
We're gonna score!

Glad to hear it.

I'm no scout and it was only 1 game, but I did see Brooks Lee play a game at SS for the Saints last season and reported in this Forum some encouraging thoughts.

A couple of years before I saw Miranda play at 2nd and knew enough then that his best defensive position would be DH, for whatever that's worth.

There is no better SS on this roster than Correa was.
Which is what makes the Correa quote in post #1864 BS.

Until his foot issues just before the All Star Break last season, it would have been moronic to move Correa to 3B.

Bastards got rid of Bader. He reminded me of Dan Gladden. Was going to go to the Detroit series in a couple weeks. Stay at the lake cabin instead

2. Twins: 10 prospects (6 on Top 30)
An argument could be made to put the Twins in the top spot because they landed two Top 100 prospects in Eduardo Tait (No. 56) and Mick Abel (No. 91) when they sent Jhoan Duran to the Phillies. Tait slid in at No. 4 and Abel at No. 6 on the Twins' list, but they also landed another prospect for their top 10 when they acquired lefty Kendry Rojas from the Blue Jays in the Louis Varland/Ty France deal. He slots in at No. 7. Right-hander Ryan Gallagher (from the Cubs in the Willi Castro deal) and outfielder Hendry Mendez (also from the Phillies, but for Harrison Bader), give them two more intriguing top 20 prospects.

I have tickets for the Royals. Looking forward to seeing Bobby Witt Jr.

I bet there's lots of OT available for Twins Pro Shop Staff marking down customized player jerseys, T-shirts and other memorabilia.

You think the Pohlads will pay OT? I heard Brenda and Erick from the pro shop were two more casualties from the trade deadline. Only got some leftover Juan Soto jersey shirts from the Yankees in return. Bummer.

Early in the 1982 HHH Dome debut season, with Twins Ownership in a world of hurt dumped a large chunk of their Opening Day roster. The carnage included Butch Wynegar, Roy Smalley & Doug Corbett, all former All Stars.

It took a few seasons to get new Owners. However, the return back from the fire sale netted key cogs in the 1987 World Series with the likes of Greg Gagne & Tom Brunansky.

Here's to better days.
You get the Optimist 👍 - waaaay up

I wonder if it’s possible if the Twins felt that neither Lewis or Lee were a long-term fit at short?

SS are the easiest position players to move, as they’re usually the best athletes.

According to Matthew Leach’s, Twins beat writer on MLB, Twins are paying $33M of Correra’s remaining salary.

Calvin Griffith would be damn proud of the Twins front office. Damn proud. They got rid of half the team, including some good players under team control, slashed the hell out of payroll and they brought back and Amazon truck full of "maybe some days." The kid they are most excited about is a short, fat 18 year old catcher. He has a nice swing YouTube. By the time he's 22 he's going to look like La Tortuga.

This is really foul. New ownership can't be any worse than these guys.

Listening to 93X. One of the guys has season tickets. He said he got an email two days ago informing him that the price of season tickets is going up next year. Feel for the folks in the ticket office. Roll up your sleeves like Ian Leonard during a tornado watch. You've got big work to do.
