Why are we so eager to trade him if he's meh and it's a position we have zero depth?Uhh, where was that ever claimed that Jeffers would "bring a massive return in a trade"? Certainly not by me.

We play the Tigers two more series IIRC.Oh man. No more listening to Provus and whoever's sitting next to him gushing about Chris Paddack's choice of attire.
If we didn't give them any $$, the Tigers are eating ~$2.5 million of Paddock salary and probably around a $1 million of Dobnak salary. The Pohlads will love it.Oh, I don't like this one bit. It turns out Paddack isn't the only playoff-tested bulldog that those shifty weasels traded to the Tigers.
I don't have a list either, but his tenure has been a failure. He's in the the bottom 3rd of the league at best. Time for a change. You first, although when I was 10 I could name every player on every team in MLB.
I’m a 58 year old man, who just started working PT, after having not worked for five years due to various medical issues, so I have much different fish to fry than someone in your age range.
I get a kick out of all the posters on here who could naturally outwit Falvey with ease; their hubris amuses me and reminds me of my smug pre 50 year old self. Trust me I was a much bigger “expert” (viva La Sid) than anyone on here - this was my theme song from that era -

Thanks for confirming you don’t know any eitherI don't have a list either, but his tenure has been a failure. He's in the the bottom 3rd of the league at best.
I never said it wasn’t time for a change either, IIRC, I said there should be changes when the team is sold - as there obviously won’t be until that happens.Time for a change.
My point is that you are too easy to please. Falvey made a good trade or two. He must be going a good job. Ben Johnson won 2-3 B1G games. He must be improving. They're both very bad at their jobs. The Twins have now completely face-planted in 3 of the last 4 seasons in a very weak division. Thanks for confirming you don’t know any either,
Lovely how you asked me for specifics and then provides answer with a generalization
Agreed. But I fear the new owner either won't be in place in time, or will be "convinced" by the Pohlads to give Falvey 2026 to prove himself. And then we'll have a strike which will probably buy him 2027 as well.I never said it wasn’t time for a change, IIRC, I said there should be changes when the team is sold - as there obviously won’t be until that happens.
He's not "untouchable", I'm not sure anyone is.Umm, where did I say "I was eager" to trade Jeffers? My previous response to your statement that he's "untouchable".
He's not.
If he can fetch a prospect from a team that needs a C for depth (especially if their other C is more reliable defensively), then I am not opposed to it. This is especially true if the trade for Jeffers or any one of the other trade chips the Twins have fetch a potential Catcher in return.
If they have to ride out Vazquez & Gasper for the rest of 2025, so be it.
Even if the Twins don't get a Catcher back, it can be addressed in the offseason via trade or free agency and offset the loss of Jeffers' current 0.7 WAR. Not real difficult. I assume they will need more than 1, as Vazquez is also a likely departee.
If they are not offered a prospect (I'd go as far as saying "decent") then keep him. Simple. Maybe there will be market for him at the 2026 deadline if the Twins are again out of the race.
I heard that the White Sox agreed to stock all of our locker room vending machines with free soda and that sealed the deal for Falvey. If we didn't give them any $$, the Tigers are eating ~$2.5 million of Paddock salary and probably around a $1 million of Dobnak salary. The Pohlads will love it.
Untouchable was your word, not mine. Post #1584.He's not "untouchable", I'm not sure anyone is.
But he's among the last players I would trade. He's not at peak value, they have zero organizational depth at the position and acquiring a starting caliber catcher in free agency is very expensive (see Christian Vazquez, 3 years $30 million.) If you trade him, you're almost certainly making your team worse in 2026.
If my perspective annoys you sooooo much, feel free to put me on ignore or not interact with me.My point is that you are too easy to please.
Never said that - maybe have enough self-respect for yourself not to put words in my mouth on an anonymous chatroom to win a meaningless argumentFalvey made a good trade or two. He must be going a good job.
I stated numerous times thst I support who the coach is. My apologies for being more of a Real Fan than you areBen Johnson won 2-3 B1G games. He must be improving.
They're both very bad at their jobs. The Twins have now completely face-planted in 3 of the last 4 seasons in a very weak division.
After what I’ve been through, I don’t fear many things in life and the future of the Twins is definitely not on my radar.Agreed. But I fear the new owner either won't be in place in time, or will be "convinced" by the Pohlads to give Falvey 2026 to prove himself. "Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it." Charles Swindoll.Hopefully the sale closes fast and he's canned by October 1st.
The Paddock trade already netted a Catcher prospect from the Tigers, but only 19 and in Rookie/Class A, so an unlikely option in 2026 unless he's the 2nd coming of Butch Wynegar.Untouchable was your word, not mine. Post #1584.
You are ignoring the possibility of acquiring a Catcher back in a trade (either for Jeffers or another trade chip), as I have seen in several potential trade partners for the Twins.
Thank God for the Rockies. Are not the Colorado Rockies![]()
IIRC he obtained via trade -

You may find him odorous, but to act like his tenure has been the black whole of Calcutta, is an overly dramatic assessment.
And yes, everyone makes bad trades, but do you win more than you lose? Additionally, three have been All-Stars for us.
For hitters at least, it seems they develop well through the minors but then guys stall out at the MLB level. Eventually you have to start seeing a few of these guys become better than just average or even solid.I never said Falvey is all bad. I think he has brought in talent which is why I don't want a big sell off.
The problem is they have been very redundant at drafting high in the draft, not to mention all of the injury issues. Very similar OF's - Kirilloff, Rooker, Larnach, Wallner, and the only one that's any good is the one they got rid of - Rooker. Same thing with all of these SS they draft. Gotta take 'the best athlete', fine. Yet they all have the same injury issues or struggle to hit.
The reason why I'm ready to see Falvey go is because there is some sort of organizational problems as far as developing these players. I think Rocco is a big part of the problem too yet Falvey has shown no interest in letting him go.
Pitching wise they are doing fine. But we have been waiting for all of these young position players to come up and take us to the next level, they look good in the minors, yet they are consistently underwhelming in the majors. It's no longer a small sample size either.
It's fine to be an optimist. Sid Hartman always believed the Gophers were going to the Rose Bowl and defended every local coach from the day they were hired to the day they were fired. If my perspective annoys you sooooo much, feel free to put me on ignore or not interact with me.
i won’t engage an endless diatribe with you and won’t allow you to drag me into your negativity. I’ve been called worse by better men than you kiddo
Yes. From Kiriloff, to Larnach, Lewis, Wallner, Julien etc. they continue to stall out at mediocre or worse. The one exception was probably Arreaz. For hitters at least, it seems they develop well through the minors but then guys stall out at the MLB level. I wouldn’t put Lewis in that group yet.Yes. From Kiriloff, to Larnach, Lewis, Wallner, Julien etc. they continue to stall out at mediocre or worse. The one exception was probably Arreaz.
I have been a season ticket holder (20 game) for over 20 years.Yes. From Kiriloff, to Larnach, Lewis, Wallner, Julien etc. they continue to stall out at mediocre or worse. The one exception was probably Arreaz.
I did my usual flip on the game and schit, we are up 2-0 on the Red Sox.Stop hitting into double plays.
I doubted that they would restart tonight, much less rally in the 9th.Never a doubt
Did Dave and Joel Maturi go to the same sports management program?I have been a season ticket holder (20 game) for over 20 years.
One day, I watched Larnach make a 10 yard circle to catch a routine fly, and for some reason, I called Dave St. Peter, got voice mail, gave him my name, my account number, and asked him why this guy is on the team.
Less than 2 minutes later, my phone rang, and it was Dave.
He let me know that he appreciates my concern, loves my loyalty, and assured me that Larnach is part of a great future. And that I can call him at any time.
I didn't call him again.
Maybe not yet, but it's getting late early.I wouldn’t put Lewis in that group yet.
