Vazquez didn't need to play at all. He caught yesterday too. Rocco continues to needlessly catch him 50% of the time.
 

AL central all teams combined are on a 20 game losing streak. Gotta be close to a record.

As far as Vazquez playing, with Buxton scratched and facing a lefty perhaps the Twins just wanted another righthanded bat in the lineup.

Maybe Jeffers is banged up. Who knows...

The Twins won their team record 15th-straight game on this date in 1991, beating Cleveland 4-2 in 10 innings.

The streak began in Kansas City on June 1. At the time, the Twins were in fifth place in the AL West—5.5 games behind Oakland. With the win in Cleveland, the Twins moved half a game ahead of Oakland.

The streak came to and end the next night in Baltimore when Rick Aguilera blew a two-run lead in the ninth. The 15-game winning streak was part of a larger stretch over which the Twins went 24-3.

I think the streak ender was the game playing in the background of A Few Good Men during a scene when they preparing for the case.
