All Things 2025-26 Minnesota Wild Season Thread

Wow. Big blow for the Kings. Days after they trade for Panarin, they lose Fiala for the rest of the season. I don't know how much of a factor they would have been down the stretch, but at a minimum they could have been a pain in the ass 1st round matchups for one of the real contenders.

With the Olympic break over, and with it the NHL roster freeze, it's time for the trade activity to crank up between now and the NHL trade deadline. Let the roster shuffling begin!!

He maybe only has a 2-3 year career window left but there's some online steam about Nazem Kadri and the Wild.

he's got 3 years left on his deal at 7m AAV. Only reason he's being brought up is the Flames are ass. There's been speculation that he will be cheap, but I really don't think so as his play hasn't fallen off yet considerably, the Flames are just fucking terrible so everyone's stats are suffering.

I don't love taking in 7mil onto the cap for him for next year when you need to resign Hughes (and continue to add for winning back to back Cups :D ) unless Calgary is going to hold some salary retention for him.

The long term cap looks really good for attracting more talent, but I don't love taking on a sure to fade Kadri into that mix

What’s an acceptable price for Kadri?

It appears he is on a 60 point pace for a bad team.

way too many variables. Flames could hold part of his contract to try get more capital. I don't think he's worth a ton with who's still rumored on the market right now.

I will be pretty shocked if we don't (successfully) make a huge push to get Trocheck who wins faceoffs at a really high clip, kills penalties, has a better contract, and is 3 years younger while also being on a 60 point pace while being on a bad team. Oh and hey he just got to hang out with Billy G winning a gold medal. Not to mention he was really fucking good in the Rangers last playoff run

I would suspect that that means moving Stramel and a first and that's a move I'd make with his age and friendly contract.

Kadri I have no interest in.

The Athletic is pushing Trocheck to the Wild again. They predict it will take the 27 1st, Stramel and Lambos.
makes the pipeline look pretty fuckin ugly and you have no 1st or 2nd for the next 2 years, but you have 3 very team friendly contracts for Boldy, Faber, Ek, and Trochek with 2 high profile guys (KK and Hughes) on big deals, a goalie you really like in Gus on a reasonable deal in his prime and the ability to dump off a bunch of aging guys to create extra cap space to go play aggressively in FA for extra pieces.

I'd prefer to keep Lambos if we can given how empty the D pipeline looks.

I’d prefer Trocheck as well

There will be plenty of competition for Trocheck. Almost everyone that has postseason aspirations could use Center help. It won't come cheap

Kadri I have no interest in.

Kadri is a tool.
