All Things 2025/26 College Football Transfer Portal Thread

Looking at college basketball bringing in G-league and other pro-players around the globe, what's to keep football coaches from looking to the Canadian Football League or other leagues to get a player via NIL?
Perhaps my question will irritate the purists or show my ignorance of the other leagues. So be it. I am curious, however, as to whether it might be done.
Are there any CFL guys with american college eligibility left?

I always figured. the CFL took american college players who were done for the most part...

I’m not entirely sure how this will change their approach.

I believe pro sports GMs and etc is a wasteland of empty suits so I'm really not sure turning to pro sports will really change much ...

I'll put on my skeptic hat and argue that this is just networking for the folks on every side to meet other sports team management type people and network / put on their resume.

Small town Minnesota kid, didn't have a 247 rating and only school listed is Southwest Minnesota State.

Anyone who follows out-state schools more have a read on him or why he didn't really get noticed coming out of high school?

Good size at 6'1" - 193 - will be interesting to see if he ends up coming here.

I mean with what is going on over in basketball right now pretty much anything is possible. There is a guy possibly coming to college basketball for the second half of the year who friggin played in NBA games this season.

I am sure Pavia is working on a lawsuit of some kind to get more years of eligibility added to all the ones he has already had. All bets are off at this point.

There are a lot of ex pro basketball players with eligibility left. Maybe we will say goodbye to high school BB recruiting for Div 1 schools.

Truth. I think with NIL, revenue sharing, and (to some extent) the portal now established, someone is going to sue the NCAA and contend that they have no right to determine eligibility because doing so prevents them from entering a market where they can apply their skills and earn remuneration. It would be a stretch, but I still believe that the Pavia decision is the shockwave that will tumble the current (crumbling) paradigm.
