All Things 2025/26 College Football Transfer Portal Thread

Or the Minnesota Duluth guy.

Actually know nothing about USC guy.

Wonder if Simpson or Johnson are ready to go. Heard good things about coming out of high school.

The kid from Jackson, Voss? Not a lot of true freshman tight ends are ready to go out of the gate.
Voss is also playing QB in HS and is gonna learn the TE position in college (as far as I know). So it seems like a redshirt year would be a good move

More than likely he will need a year, that said, he has known he was going to be a TE in college for a while so hopefully he has found a way to start working on technique and fundamentals already in order to get ready for the position change.

Don't know the kid but if I were in his spot I know I would be doing everything I could to improve my chances of playing early at the next level.

I’d use him like Cashman’s freshman year play on all special teams get to travel and get a lot of the jitters out then ready to go as a sophomore at his position.

Voss could be our Tyler Warren. He can do a little bit of everything because of his physical skills and mental understanding of the offense because of his QB time.

Did a little digging on the interwebs. There's no indication that the policy changed, nor that it is still in place for Football and Basketball.

I'd be shocked if it still was in place. In the day and age of players not honoring any commitments, this step, which was needed in 2014, a change would be a quid pro quo for the 100% freedom players have today to walk away from their commitments to schools/teams/coaches at any time, as we've seen in the past two years.
It's complicated but it's technically still in place a team can cut a guy and that player can still stay on scholarship for academic purposes and not have it count against the teams roster limit. It's a rare occurrence as not a lot guys quit to focus on school, but it does happen, for example the Hill Murray lineman who went to Stanford I believe is just a student now.

He has played TE/Receiver as well. Jackson had a QB that probably threw a better ball and Voss has a hand injury two years ago. Also played as a defensive back. I wouldn't be surprised if he stepped right in.

Plus he's not enrolling early so could be tougher for him to come in, get adjusted fast enough and learn new position to win a starting job in fall camp. If memory serves me right Koi became a starter halfway through his freshman year. I am sure Voss will have shot at earning reps though

We offered him out of high school, plus looks like we’ve been in touch with his ISU teammate cornerback Quentin Taylor Jr. who is also transferring. Sounds like KCC was playing a lot this year before a season ending injury early in the year, mostly played some safety and a lot covering the slot where we could really use a transfer.
