All Things 2025/26 College Football Transfer Portal Thread

Here is another interesting portal player. Last year's Mr. Football from 9-Player, who went to Minnesota State. Did not play. Will be interesting to see where he goes. Possibly down to D3?

Finals are not even until the 12th? How does one have a GPA as a true freshman unless were some summer credits?

Wisconsin losing like their top five receivers due to graduation and transfers. Indiana may be the leader for former ASU qb, Leavitt.

The finals schedule is Dec 8th -12. It's possible that he has his final grades if he had early finals.

You don’t think the younger Mendoza takes the job next year?
Will just be a redshirt Sophomore next year and if they want to keep doing what they have done the past few years they can't afford to take a step back at all. Wouldn't shock me to see them try and land another very experienced older player like Leavitt.

Leavitt seems like a buyer beware situation. not showing up to your banquet despite being a captain is a real weird move for a QB

Interesting that MN has one of the largest portal exit lists in the B1G so far with Purdue and Michigan State.

Will be interesting to see what happens. Will they at least bring in a veteran for competition? The younger Mendoza played well in all his limited time on the field.

tOSU went young this year with Sayin who transferred in when Saban retired.

Stockton is home grown by Georgia

I think every season is a bit different. Had Lindsey looked different, we may have been looking for a QB this off-season.

too much unknown yet on who's declaring. Lot of tweeners on that big board this year for QB prospects. Basically every mock is saying its Mendoza and then everyone else looks mediocre. Will be curious if some guys decide to try leave to capitalize on a weak class but take the risk of not developing. Could be the usual big transfer subjects are feeling pretty solid with what they've got and then you've got the black box that is Michigan right now waiting to see what happens there with a new coach but the potential of sanctions looming

I think it was brought up elsewhere that we are bringing in like 31 players and other teams are bringing in half that, so we are having to have more portal out.
The numbers across teams will balance out more as the portal officially opens. May be an indication of Fleck being a little more proactive then some others in having conversations with those guys who may not fit into the long term plans.

Illinois has 30 guys coming in as well but only has 3 in the portal at the moment so odds are they are going to have a flourish of activity very soon where a bunch of guys declare.

Could also be that other teams plan to bring in more high school players prior to the second signing date. Or they may want more spots for transfers.

I think its done the other way around, I don’t think you just add as many as you want and then go and try to make room.

They absolutely tell some kids to leave.
Correct. With players being paid, getting NIL, and being able to transfer whenever they want, it's totally fair for schools to also be able to tell kids they aren't good enough and need to move on. This isn't 2000, which doesn't seem 25 year ago.

Coaches, players, and families are the lease surprised when this happens. They know.

Fans, not so much.
