I was confused because I could vividly remember CBJ being raked over the coals for losing Freitag, then I remembered I've done a lot of work to suppress the last few years of Gopher basketball.

The user you quoted is referining CBJ picking to pay for Northwestern over the home town Gophers.

As far as Freitag, I've heard on here we never really were interested because of the attitude issues and CBJ wanted Asuma instead

The talk was that he made it clear he wasn't that interested in the U and so Ben stopped putting time into him. You can't blame a coach for not wasting their time on someone who already rejected you.

As far as Freitag now, if he's interested in coming home, you can never have too many ball handlers.
