All Things 2024-25 Minnesota Twins Off-Season Thread

And just sign reliever Tanner Scott to 4/$72. Its like they’re intentionally trying to piss off all the other owners into instituting a salary cap.
I wonder if it's enough to even push other big spenders like the Yankees and Red Sox to being pro-salary cap.

It could get down to the Dodgers and Mets as the lone holdouts for the spend like there is no tomorrow philosophy.

Nailed it.

This is an incredibly interesting graph, not just from the perspective of the Twins lack of spending, but the vast disparity between those top two franchises and everyone else--if you add up the entire NL and AL Central franchises plus the Angels plus the Marlins--all those teams combined would still slot in under the Mets for third on the list. That the Dodgers have spent more than teams 11-30 on this list is bonkers.

And as much as I am a "take it as it comes and enjoy having games every day in the summer" type of fan, that the Twins are getting lapped by the likes of the Pirates and Rays is something. As Ope says this BS should equate to $1 beers and dogs.

The amazing thing is the Twins still have the highest payroll in the AL Central.

That doesn't strike me as the Ishbia modus operandi, given how they have handled their HCs and Free Agents.
I believe the "other" brother is the one that would be the main owner of the Twins. Hopefully he's the John Harbaugh of the pair.
