All Things 2024-25 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

Basically everyone for the pacers is out tonight. Start fast and obliterate them

Lakers lost. I think they are our best shot. I don't see the Warriors playing any worse than the wolves down the stretch.

Memphis has 14 games left. Including these:

Away
LAC
OKC
Denver
Detroit
Miami
Sacramento

Home
LAL
Boston
Minnesota

Unfortunately they own the tiebreak over us, so we need to pick up 5 games on them. Even with our much easier schedule it will be difficult to make up 5 games.
We almost have to go undefeated rest of the way to pass any team, except maybe the Warriors.

I agree with jamiche I like us to catch the lakers with their health issues.

Lakers have home games this week against Denver and Milwaukee. Hopefully lose those.
Then next week have a tough 4 game roadie. If LeBron is unable to play next week Lakers could lose 3 of those 4.
Big if we can win tonight as well.

Wow. Pacers missing 4 of 5 starters. Nice!

Are these guys actually nba players for Indy? Hell this is awful ball

Rockets getting destroyed at home

this is about as stereotypical playing down to your opponent as you'll ever see by the wolves (added to a ref job that's super hard to figure out what they're calling versus not going both ways)

Good thing we aren't playing their starters I guess

Hope it's not too big of a hole to get out of
24 minutes to get things straightened out

"They're outplaying us on both ends. We have to decide if we want to play basketball tonight or not. Simple as that."
- asst coach

Wolves and rockets apparently had the same halftime talk. We’ll see which of them atone fully for their first halves

Pacers hit a bunch of Circus threes. It happens.

Why did Indy get a fresh clock at the end of regulation. Are they saying Donte had possession before he tried to save it from going out of bounds?

Obi Toppij throwing in game winner while ANY misses them is something. Why no bench from the wolves tonight?

Hated seeing Naz and Randle and then Randle out there on defense the last two possessions. Both came after Dead balls that could have been used for substitutions. Naz fell asleep and then Randle got beat. Clark should have been out there. Indy went small, why have our slow bigs out there?

Looked as if it brushed the arm of that Pacer, but Wolves decided not to challenge.

Golden state lost last night to the nuggets not playing half their team. Could’ve moved at bare minimum into a tie with them

For statheads, a list of all game winning buzzer beaters since 1946 (Shot taken with the team trailing or tied and no time left on the clock after it went through.) Appears Wolves have done it 18 times. Obviously a tough thing to do.
Went searching for it after reading Edwards is 243 out of 246 of players since 1997 who have taken at least 20 shots of this variety. Couldn't find that site.

I’m not that upset about it. The Pacers’ fortitude was pretty amazing. The wolves seemed to put them away half a dozen times down the stretch and they didn’t quit.

Agreed. Toppin had a career night launching 3s from tough locations.

I took was wondering why they didn't have Clark out there playing defense. At least they put NAW out there, but he gave up Toppin's game-winning 3 in the corner. They played hard but it was a lot to ask for a back-to-back game that went into OT.

The Wolves were streaky.

Agree about Clark. I was wondering the same thing. He was pretty effective against McConnell.
