All Things 2024-25 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

Anyone catch that fastball to the head that Gobert received from Olynyk? Geez he got clobbered.
I tried to find a replay of it, but with no success.

Little tidbit about Joe.
With his wife and three children in attendance, Minnesota's Joe Ingles made his first start since Jan. 30, 2022, and went scoreless with an assist in just over six minutes. Ingles' son Jacob, who has autism, recently reached the milestone of viewing an entire game in person. Finch gave Ingles the start so Jacob could watch his father play.

The wolves won last night by around 40 points. I wish they had won by 20 and we could take the extra 20 points and retroactively apply them to all of the close losses to clearly inferior teams.

A really nice article from Jon K. expanding on Ingles’ start in front of Jacob and the family last night. A wonderful, humane decision on Finch’s part: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/62...tism-timberwolves/?source=user_shared_article

Lots of stumbling from teams. If we hadn’t blown those games, probably out of the playing already. Going to take probably 8-2 at least with the tiebreakers as they are

Edwards 1-10 from 3. Finch refuses to move off the rotation despite the fact that several guys clearly aren't mentally there tonight.

what do you mean aren't mentally there?

they can't guard the pacers. They have no chance. Our perimeter defenders are overrated.

Is there ever a “message” sent to the supposed “leaders” of this team? Maybe someone gets pulled for poor play. Everyone’s been bad tonight yet Shannon Jr or Dillingham can’t get any minutes.

This team hasn't had a leader all season. It's the #1 thing they need to find in the offseason.

Edwards, Donte and Julius were 2-20 from 3
little unfair including Julius who only shot 2 but 2/18 from your guys who are going to take a bunch of 3s will get you beat every single night, especially when you don't value the ball and turn it over 17 times

Ant was 6/8 on 2s tonight. he is one of the streakiest 3 pt shooters out there and tonight was certainly not his night from deep

Yeah, I went with what sounds worse.

The Wolves stubbornly keep attempting 3s like it is their only way to score points. They have guys in Rudy, Julius, Naz, Ant, and Jaden that are good at the hoop. Conley used to be great at the runners. I see him attempting a lot more 3s this season instead of driving the lane and either taking the runner or passing back out to the open shooter.

The NBA is raising the salary cap by 10% for the 2025-26 season.

Only caught the last few minutes of the Lakers at Pacers game, but what an ending. Lakers win in the last second with a LeBron tip in.
