All Things 2024-25 College Basketball Other Games Thread

Last win for Penn St in Madison was 1995. Badgers miss out on a double bye in upcoming Tournament.

Drake with its first lead with about 9 to play and currently on 8-0 run to go up 5 at the 8 under. Stirtz taking over to start the half but tremendous team defense has been the difference here lately. Now just time to finish.

How do you feel about the coaches offense? I've heard mixed reviews.

It is indeed very deliberate and slow. They have the slowest pace in the NCAA so it is not the offense many will want to watch. The goal though is still to play fast in their offense. They run what he calls the Ocean Ball Screen Offense. Coaches is the MVC were going berserk this season asking for moving screens as it was very effective. I do wonder about how short the bench is as they typically only play 6 or 7, but he does this knowing his players know their role. Ultimately it is fun to win and that’s what he does. I recommend listening to this podcast where coach McCollum talks about his experience and various philosophies.

Yes, what's your point?
Mine is that typically bad Penn St. can occasionally win against WI. Something apparently we can't do against a rivalry. That's two straight for Penn St. over WI and 3 wins in last 8

Rivalries don't mean much to me although I do prefer seeing the Gophers beat a good team more than a bad team. Other than team quality, I look at opposing teams the same: a group of young athletes trying to do their jobs and win. Why a man your age would choose to hold on to childish feelings is of no interest to me.

College sports is built on rivalries. Terrible take.

Omaha blitzing South Dakota, up 55-26 at the half. Hide the garbage cans!!!

Penn St. goes into Madison and wins 86-75.

And we can't win 1 in 9 tries. Thanks UofM admin, Coyle, BJ- keep it going as we're doing it the right way!
rematch on Thursday. 5 vs 12 / 13 seeds Bucky puts ben Johnson out of his misery

How can it be a "terrible" take? It's my personal feeling about something. It's not a question of fact or an interpretation of events. If you want to start a fight with me, at least come up with something intelligent. Oh, wait, that might be asking too much of you.

North Dakota kid had 51 on Friday. St Thomas held him to 6 points on 6 shots last night. Scored first points with 15 minutes left.

Omaha clinched berth as game is meaningless today against St Thomas.
