Great job by starting pitcher. My wife brought home a banana cream pie tonight. I definitely consumed ober what is advisable.

Top 4 pies in the whole universe:

1. Banana cream
2. Pecan
3. Rhubarb
4. Peach

Holy fuck. Thanks Taylor for swinging at the 1st strike you saw.

Stewart(at least hes still scoreless) and Moran have got to learn how to throw fucking strikes. Never again, try and piggyback those two in an inning.

Watched the condensed game on the MLB channel via Roku and the Dodgers announcers trumpeted that in Kershaw’s last 18 starts (since June of 2021 - almost 2 full years) that he was 10 and 🍩 @ Chavez Ravine.

Hanging an L on him there is some Big Boy Business.

Replace peach with French Silk and you are right on the money IMO.

Upper management question---

With a 3rd generation Pohlad (Joe) now in charge, are we going to see any differences in spending?

I think we already have with the Correra and Lopez deals -

Makes it easier IMO to attract quality bench guys like 🧑‍🌾 and Taylor as they want to be on winning clubs.

Also Gleeman noted in an article in The Athletic that another benefit to having the Triple A team in St. Paul us that for guys who are gonna be on the option train for the season, they don’t have to move themselves, residence or their families - makes it easier to attract better talent for that silo. They can also spend time more time with the Big Club, building comradiere, and making monitoring their rehab much easier

I actually think - the Twins will end up as one of the best teams in all baseball over the next decade- including winning another World Series - calling my decade long shot

I still feel like Correa will get it figured out but it's getting a little ridiculous right now. He's overdue.

Agree. His defense certainly adds a lot in any case. But yes, the season is over a fourth of the way over. Time for Carlos to step it up.

I don't know how much you're into the statcast stats but they do show he's hitting the ball just as hard as he normally does. It shows he's been somewhat unlucky with his xBA and xSLG being higher than his actually numbers are. But it also shows his average launch angle is much higher than it normally is.

Pablo Lopez has a 9 era in his 9 1st innings this year

3 ERA in all other innings combined.

He has really, really got to figure that out.

Reminds me of Brad Radke. Had a lot of trouble with that in his early yrs, but he did eventually get it figured out. Radke ended up being a really good Aug, Sept , Oct. pitcher. Quiet demeanor but killer in a big game

Its not skiriting I quite literally said the bats were bad.

But it doesnt change the fact that 3 awful calls directly impacted immediate scoring. Youre skirting and basically reading posts half blind based on the fact you had to even bring up the Abs again
The post I was directly responding to (#1834) there was zero mention of the ABs.

The difference of opinion is that you think it is a "massive" difference because the scoring difference was immediate instead of eventual.

From my perspective, if it resulted in a run anyway it's not "massive". Correa would have been sitting on the bench, with no potential of reaching 2nd and eventually scoring. You disagree in the level of impact. That's fine.

-----

Glad they got a W last night. Gutsy performance from Ober to make it through 6 after so many pitches n the early going. The late HR by Farmer gave me a big sigh of relief heading into the 9th.

First Twins victory at Chavez Ravine since June 11, 2005. I was there on what was a beautiful Hollywood night.

Next day Hee-Seop Choi hit 3 solo HRs off of Brad Radke. He later went ballistic because Gardy yanked him before he got a chance for a 4th in what would be a 4-3 loss. I was there for that one too.

Amazing game durations were 2:23 and 2:36, no pitch clock.

Over his career the 1st innings have always given him trouble. 1st and 4th innings are the worst by far. I'm sure that's the same for many pitchers as you're usually facing the best hitters in those innings but his are substantially worse.

1st inning5.03
2nd inning2.31
3rd inning3.97
4th inning5.25
5th inning2.90
6th inning3.72
7th inning4.74

I doubt there will be a massive change. They are currently overspending their budget slightly (or perhaps a lot depending on the Bally Sports $$).

Please let Kirilloff’s wrist be ok. He’s the only guy on the team that takes a professional at bat every time.
