They will exit quickly in the playoffs.Don't tell Bill Belichick. Or Mike Vrabel.

Yep, without them we would lose our dominating ways.
They will exit quickly in the playoffs.
Don't tell Bill Belichick. Or Mike Vrabel.
I don't consider Vrabel old school in the way Zimmer or even Belichick are. He is a very good motivator and developer of talent, and adapts to the strengths of his team. The fact that he lost Henry for half of the season, and AJ Brown for a month, and they are still the #1 seed in the AFC says it all.
Well if they go 5-12 next year instead of the 7-10 of this year, that would be a devastating setback. So domination is your goal?
It will be tons of fun to see how dominating the Vikings are next year, with their brand-spanking new GM, coaching staff and QB.

Are you drinking or something?
Maybe I'm not following your logic. Careful what you wish for with a new coach and gm was your post.Maybe I'm not following your logic here.
To me, it sounds as though you're disgusted with 7-10 in 2021, yet you see 5-12 in 2022 as a step in the right direction. You see going 5-12 as a necessary bump in the team's progress toward the "domination" you claim should be the only worthy goal.
Is that a fair summary?
Steelers?I don't think anyone would seriously trade for Cousins.
We need to play him or cut him.
Sure, it might not work out and it could even work out less well than the mean of what Zim/Speil(/Cousins) have accomplished with the Vikings.Viking fans have been hoping for a new GM, a new coaching staff, and a new QB for some time now.
Be careful what you wish for; you just might get your wish.

What is there to be careful about? We suck. The worst thing that could happen if we change things is we still suck.
You seriously want to stick with this?
In other words, there is no mean that's so high that the fanbase would be willing to say "OK, you're going to win so many games here on average, that we'll keep you on even though we know you'll never win a Super Bowl".
The ultimate prize, and the pursuit of it, is really the end all, be all of what (pro) sports is all about.
OK, fair.I feel it is.
But it's good to understand that if you're only happy with a Super Bowl, you're going to end up un-happy almost every season.
OK, fair.
The Vikings have done everything there is to be done, except win it all.
Every playoff season that does not end in a Super Bowl win, ends in a loss.
So your point was it could get worse. Well, hot damn, thanks for letting me know that. No, I never said that I want to "stick with this".
But you're flat out wrong about one thing: it can get worse than what we have right now. Worse than our current level of "sucking", as you so adroitly put it.
This regime has failed to win a championship; that is undeniably true. But year over year the Vikings have at least been in the hunt.
It can get much worse, my friend. Much, much worse. Ask the Jets. Ask the Jags.
The current regime has had 8 years. That's long enough. It is time to make a change, I agree. But it is no slam dunk sure thing that the new regime will be better, even if they are "new school".
I don't think people look at the Mpls Miracle season as a failure, by any means, though the way we lost the NFC Champ game was embarrassing and frustrating.Yes. Exactly.
I was a Viking fan as a kid, back in the Purple People Eater days. Those guys went to four Super Bowls, and yes, they lost them all. Yet I've never understood people who call the players on those teams "losers". They won a lot of games to get to those four Super Bowls, against some great teams.
I just don't see things in that binary way. The world is not limited to black or white. Shades of gray do exist.
I've never heard anyone call them losers. It's nostalgic and great memories is what I hear.Yes. Exactly.

So if you change, it could get better or it could get worse. BRILLIANT!
Well, I suppose it could get worse. LMAOYou have no idea how much it means to me to be called brilliant by a charming, subtle person such as yourself. I'm overwhelmed.
I've never heard anyone call them losers. It's nostalgic and great memories is what I hear.
Yes, I have heard of the championship drought. The reason I've heard of it is because we are in one.I've heard it many, many times.
Many people have the attitude that there are champions and there are losers, and all non-champions are losers.
Have you ever heard anyone refer to the famous Minnesota sports "championship drought"?
Cleveland would love to have him. Let's fleece Cleveland for a trade for multiple draft picks.I don't think anyone would seriously trade for Cousins.
We need to play him or cut him.
I'd love to see Cousins in Cleveland. Better defense, better run game, better offensive line.Cleveland would love to have him. Let's fleece Cleveland for a trade for multiple draft picks.
Well, the Bears did win last week, hammering the hapless Giants.Have u seen the bears play? They quit weeks ago.
Did Stefanski like Cousins? Anyone know the behind the scenes stuff?Cleveland would love to have him. Let's fleece Cleveland for a trade for multiple draft picks.
Zimmer and Nagy are both gone, so they will both try to win.Well, the Bears did win last week, hammering the hapless Giants.
One thing I had forgotten, not that NFL teams really 'tank', but the Bears have no incentive to lose to the Vikings as their 1st round pick is owed to to the NY Giants.
Vikings open around a FG favorite. Really hard to touch this game from a betting standpoint.
Someone will absolutely trade for him. Multiple teams like the Browns and Broncos are "a QB away" from contention and Cousins is better than what they have now. The return might not be what we're hoping. They can't cut him.I don't think anyone would seriously trade for Cousins.
We need to play him or cut him.
If they trade Cousins, cut Barr and a couple others, they're not in salary cap hell. It's a fairly easy fix.But you'd get out of salary cap hell. Neither player is irreplaceable.
Paying any running back more than $10 million max is simply foolishness.Cook just doesn't seem like he is worth what he gets paid.
Titans could be AFC #1 seed and Derrick Henry hasn't played since week 8.
The modern NFL: "It's the passing game, stupid!"
