We're on the Basketball board, right? 1941 saw the UW win a National Championship awarded following a tournament of conference champions. The championship was awarded following their final game....not before it. However, I don't bang you over the head with that. Why? Because I live in the now....as in enjoying UW very much today. And I couldn't tell you anything about that season as I wasn't alive....my Dad, was a few months old, and my mom wasn't born.

So are we on for getting together this summer? You and I and the Mrs.?

You like to attack Ruppert, and I'm assuming a lot of that has to do with the fact that he apparently posts on one of your boards with some frequency. What makes you think you appear any less pathetic to us?

The BBall title for UW is relevant. Certainly no less relevant than the Gopher FB titles - which I often remind my B10 brethren about. Most are surprised as they had no idea. There are both relevent.

As for this conversation, it's dumb. Bo Ryan is the greatest coach in Wisconsin BBall history and one of the top coaches in B10 history. Say all you want about his "whining" etc, but there is no denying he's is a terrific Bball coach.

Really? All I said is that Minnesota fans must really hate Izzo. Didn't assign any statistic. Just that he's always on the officials. When posted, I was thinking more along the lines of him being longer tenured in the Big Ten. I couldn't tell you if Izzo, Ryan, or Matta whine the most. I can tell you, they are head and shoulders above the other coaches for victories. They have that in common.

Once again, no one is disputing that he's a good coach.

Just my experiences from comments I have read on other teams' boards, and friends of other Big Ten teams I've talked to. "Guarantee" was probably the wrong word. But I'm guessing many people feel that way.

I honestly don't get what you're even trying to do (other than troll). Things you can't deny:
1. Ryan is a good coach
2. He whines and yells at the refs a ton.

No one compared him to the Gophers and no one has claimed Tubby Smith is one of the greatest coaches in big 10 history (based on big 10 record) if you want to claim Bo Ryan is a top coach in the all time history of the conference, IMO, he'd better have a final four or a championship.
