Lately he truly has been one of the worst point guards around, I don't see how you can argue that. His defense has been above average, but not great by any means. Your PG can NOT be that big of a liability of offensively.

Not only would it be helpful to have a point guard who could score, but it would be helpful to have a PG who could run an offense, handle the ball, shoot, pass, not turn the ball over like a mad man...It's not just his inability to score that bothers me, it's his inability to do anything productive offensively.

Like the other guy said, if we don't find guard play, we are toast. One and done in the NIT when you don't have any guards. Next year, a .500 team at best if Cobbs can't step in and contribute. Teams figured out how to shut us down, and not having a scorer or someone to produce on offense is killing us.

Exactly. People think that because he is a decent defender that he should be playing. He shouldn't see the court, he really shouldn't. You can find a lot of guys to just play defense, because you can't get any worse offensively. He is a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE shooter, he is a poor ball handler, and he makes decisions that I'd expect from a 7th grade girls basketball team.

He started the B10 season decently, which greatly inflated his numbers. Put those same ones together for the last 5 games.

As for the assist to turnover ratio, I honestly have no idea how that happened. He is atrocious with the ball and turns it over so much. It's not even the assist/turnover ratio as much as it is him being totally inept at running an offense. If you counted each stupid ass shot he took or times he forced the ball into the lane, he'd crush everyone.

The steals come from gambling on defense. He doesn't play good sound fundamental defense, he takes a lot of risks and pays dearly for them.

XMan, believe it or not I read the board no matter what. I watch every road game and go to every home game. I don't feel the need to post about how great our players are and how we have better players coming on next year when we win, these guys don't need to be coddled.

It's not even worth debating. Nolan can't run an offense and his defense has been suspect during the Big Ten season. Hoff would be lucky to be in Winona State's starting lineup. It's too bad because I thought both of them had promising freshmen seasons. I look forward to next season where we will add a player like White who can create his own shot and Trevor who can bring some much-added muscle inside. Hopefully Nolan will be able to find his game by then, but people who defend Nolan's play now are typical homers or don't understand the game of basketball, or possibly forgot to take their medication.
