Adding guys mid season

My question/worry would be $$. Seems unlikely we just have some NIL just laying around. Certainly seems like if you do there are plenty of free agents just waiting to sign
Gotta assume that most players that don't have a team right now aren't going to have a ton of leverage to make big demands in terms of money if they want to play this year.

Isn't that Gopher Athletics compareed to most of the rest of the BIG and D1 teams as a whole?
He might be a great GM for the Gophers with his vast experience dealing with the Twins Ownership.
I would guess we are pretty much in line with the majority of teams and a clear cut below the big spenders.

But hadn't really thought of it that way. Falvey would be very used to working with less.

I'd almost argue the opposite 😆 look at Philip Rivers!

lol...watching him play in NFL for first time since the comeback tonight. Looks like that Kentucky QB from a few years ago. :)

Jared Lorenzen. Passed away in 2019 due to health complications from his weight ☹️

at this point if you aren't adding guys mid season you're don't it wrong

And we have some dipshit talking head asking, "Why is this so bad?" Nnaji played professionally in Europe. He was drafted in the NBA draft in 2023! He played in the NBA summer league. Hang the frick'n banner! Those guys at least had a connection with the U a lot more than this guy has with Baylor.

I LOVE college sports, but I'm close to being done. This is a joke
The amount of change over the past few years has been ridiculous. It is a shame to see what is happening to college football and especially basketball.

I will still follow the Gophers but it is getting tougher and tougher to feel invested at all in college athletics as a whole. They need to find some way to bring some sanity back into how things are run.

Can the Gophers coax Rick Rickert out of retirement with 2 years of eligibility remaining?

Agreed. Go and get anyone who has eligibility left, regardless of where they played professionally and for how long. That certainly seems where this is leaning.

Was Larry Bird traded before playing?
No. Bird enrolled at Indiana but never played under Knight, transfered to Indiana St, sitting out his 1st Year/FR season.

Back then after playing 3 Years at Indiana St, he was Draft Eligible and the Celtics took him in the 1978 Draft. He returned to the Sycamores as a 5th Year/SR while Boston maintained his rights.

Voshon got drafted in the second round in 94 then came back to the U for his senior year

I know, I was joking since Nnaji was traded
