With the NCAA system resembling the wild west currently, it would be cool if players could be put "on loan" ie. Premier League/soccer between schools. A guy like James Brown at UNC, (Cade Tyson teammate) 6'10" big w/skills could be LOANED to MN within a window say between 12/10/25 and 1/1/26 for the remainder of the season. Contracts signed, credits transferred and appropriate penalty/costs for MN if Brown decided to stay at MN '26/'27.
He would have an expanded role, get more minutes, develop faster, and return to UNC as a veteran Big Ten center next season. MN would have a big body through this Big Ten season, and return Brown to UNC as unaffected MN recruits and portal transfers come in for '26/'27. Watching Tar Heels game last night, a buddy and I were lamenting how MN could use James Brown right now. His idea. Brilliant!
