3rd Recruit?

That kid is legit for sure, but again schools like North Carolina are looking at him.

Not that I know anything about the kid or his recruitment, but this line of thinking bothers me. Not every kid dreams of going to North Carolina or Duke or Kentucky. Nash would have a terrific chance to be the head honcho at the U of M and would fill a huge need on a team that is one major piece away. Playing JC ball in North Dakota doesn't exactly strike me as glamorous.

NC is NC. But do you want to go be a reserve there and maybe make a Final Four or come start for MN and probably make a Sweet 16? The gulf is not that wide.

How many PGs does ol' Roy need over at UNC? He's got Kendall Marshall, Marcus Paige, and they're looking at more pgs.

I know Larry Drew left but I think there may be more pressing needs before next year rolls around especially if Barnes, Zeller, and Henson leave. Henson seems to be the least likely of the group to leave.

Really. So if North Carolina offers Nash you think we will win out for him? You're nuts.

Honestly, Nash would be nuts to choose UNC over Minnesota if he had offers from both schools. UNC might take a JUCO PG to fill the Larry Drew role. Nash would be a backup his first year, then have Marcus Paige coming in behind him after his first year on campus. If Nash goes to Minnesota, he steps in as the starting PG on a tournament team and has a chance to showcase his skills. It's not about the brand name, it's about the situation. Now if we're talking a high school 5 star recruit, then the situation is totally different. If there was a JUCO 7ft center available, he'd be much better served to take a lesser offer than Minnesota based on available PT.

3rd recruit? Is there any reason we aren't/shouldn't be looking for a 4th recruit. It's not like we have the full roster returning every year these days. Just saying.

... or 5th, 6th and 7th with Williams and Mbakwe going to the NBA followed by other potential fallout.

these should be switched.

What? Yeah, that happens regularly.

No, it certainly doesn't. But if we get a legit PG and Trevor comes back I think we have that capabilty. (Granted I thought that this year too.) Is it really worth arguing over the definition of 'probably'? 'Maybe' would have been a better word choice.

My entire point was it's not unreasonable to think he might prefer to start for a Sweet 16 calibur team instead of sitting on the bench for a Final Four calibur team. I'd say the odds of MN/NC advancing to these rounds respectively are about equal.

Have you watched UNC lately?

history and recent success shows (like 2 Championships in the last 6 years) that is is more probable that UNC makes a final 4 and a maybe that Minnesota might make a Sweet 16 not the other way around. which howeda7 has address in another post.
