3rd Badger quits during fall camp? Something is up in Madison and it's not good.

Chryst has had many coaching offers over the last 4 years (Purdue HC, Dallas Cowboys OC etc.). He in no way jumped at the first offer. Every coach that left received a promotion at their new school/NFL team. It wasn't coaches leaving to leave, they left for better offers.

On a side note I thought Chryst was very overrated when it came to game day decisions. He was the main reason we lost to TCU and MSU both years. He has a pattern of going away from the run in the 2nd qtr and it cost us in all three of those games. TCU couldn't stop the run to save their life, they were sending 10 guys at the LOS every play and Chryst played right into their hands by passing on 1st and 2nd down. The result was a ton of stalled drives on third and longs when Ball was getting 7 yards a carry. He was a great coach but the Wisconsin way is firmly established and the O won't change much with Canada.

The only coach that football team had (Paul Chryst) took the first opportunity to leave and will now lead a good Pitt team. Bert Enima lost two consecutive handed to him rose bowls because he coached over Chryst, big mistake. Best thing Wisco could've done was hire Chryst to be their coach and can Enema, then they'd have not only a good coach but one that wasn't a massive nation-wide hated prick. Good for us, they kept the prick who can't coach and let go of the guy who could. Ax is definitely ripe for the pick'n.

For right now, the best of the Big Ten cannot play with the best in the SEC. I would guess the 3rd best team in the SEC E or W would take top honors in the Big Ten. 100 yrs is a good run.

Michigan State 33, Georgia 30.

There's no doubt that the SEC is king & Alabama & LSU were head & shoulders above anybody in the Big Ten last year, but saying that anybody else in the conference would come into the Big Ten & completely roll it up simply isn't true.

7 coaches left and the head of recruiting, only one for a HC job.

I could be wrong but pretty sure most of the assistants got promotions, particularly the ones that went to Pitt following Chryst. Nothing wrong with that...

Because "rival fans" should just stay away from other boards. It's classless and as I said, pathetic. I wouldn't know what she said, as she's on the ignore list. I find it sad that someone would take the time to even look, let alone post.

You might want to lighten up a bit. Its neither classless nor pathetic for an opposing fan to post here if they are civil.

This is just ridiculous. We are here because we are huge CFB fans and want to talk/read about our team. It gets old reading nothing but homer posts from guys who have rose colored glasses on, so we look to see what our fellow conferences foes have to say. You are our biggest rival and therefore talk about our team all the time on your board, so we respond. Nothing pathetic or even unexpected about that, every single fan base does it. If you don't like reading about the Gophers from multiple sources thats your choice, but its not how many fans follow their teams. This is the only board I've seen where people seem to have a problem with it, I wonder why? (serious question not a flame there) Obviously no one likes a troll but many reasonable and respectful posts are treated with the same scorn for some reason.

Badger fan is here because of insecurity and a desparation for respect and some kind of validation. It kills them that regardless of recent success, they will never, EVER be Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska, or Penn State. They'll have the occasional GREAT year or two that might be better than one or several of those schools, but will never boast the tradition and national respect of those four schools.

Word. Just because the top teams are the best doesn't mean everyone in the SEC is great. Florida has two recent titles but did that make their team any good last year? No, they were very mediocre yet their titles were used to show how great the SEC was last year. Just because 5 teams have won recent titles doesn't mean all 5 of those teams are title contenders every year. Heck it wasn't that long ago that UMN was slapping SEC teams around in the Music City bowl. The top of the SEC is the best , but the conference is not unbeatable from top to bottom

I agree with you. For some reason Gopher fans on this board have VERY thin skin and automatically assume a person is troling simply because they cheer for someone other than the Gophers. Like I said before, there is nothing pathetic for fellow college football fans to post here. ESPECIALLY when the topic is THEIR TEAM.

I believe Joe Rudolph was in line to be the Vadger OC, correct?

Call it pantherhawk syndrome. After him and his 8000 aliases, posters have gotten weary of potential flamers.

Hook, line, sinker.....

Yes, I know that, but quotes from the linked article backed my point:

"Will Rudolph's move impact his status as the leading in-house contender for Chryst's job?"

"Bielema declined to address whether Rudolph is still in the running for the offensive coordinator job. A UW source said Rudolph remains a candidate 'in some capacity.'"

Rudolph was certainly a candidate for the OC spot in Madison, but he decided to take a spot on Chryst's staff in Pittsburgh. He and his wife are both from the area, so it was a step up from his current position in his "hometown" school. He might have been the biggest loss, frankly. He was being groomed by Bostad as the next OL coach and was an outstanding recruiter for UW.

Who really gives a $hit about the Fadgers anyway, Buck 'em.

My point was that Rudolph had a very good chance at being the next Vadger OC. As much as I hate the entire state of Wisconsin and wish it would get firebombed to the ground, I have to concede that Becky OC is a better job than Pitt OC. It is correct that he took a better job than the one he currently had (Becky OL coach), but it seems that he took a lesser job that he was certain to get rather than holding out for a better job that he had a slightly lower (though still very good) chance of getting. And in that, I am arguing that it's not necessarily true that all of the departing coaches took better jobs when you look at all of the factors.

Classless? No. Pathetic? Absolutely.

Shocking news, He transferred to Pitt along with half the coaching staff. Who "Garners" more respect OC Chryst or the missing link?
