3 hour Belotti commercial

I'm all for Belotti but didn't he voluntarily retire from coaching to become AD? Why would he now unretire? Has he shown any actual interest in this job?

Similar to Alvarez but Belotti found out in the first year that the AD thing was not for him. Everyone seems to believe that Belotti wants to continue working but that the AD job showed him coaching is what he should be doing.
 


Oregon isn't exactly a hotbed of high school football talent, and look at what he built.

No, but California is, and that's where most of his players came from. And when he built up Oregon, there really was no dominate or consistently very good team in California. Cal sucked. Stanford wasn't all that great. USC was way down. UCLA had a couple good teams in 97 and 98, but were otherwise pretty meh. The Pac-10 in general wasn't all that great.

They do fill their roster with a lot of CA guys, but their big guns, James-Huff-Thomas, are from Texas. Thats a long way from home.
