26 Pts to Rutgers?!?

Offense directly responsible for 9 of those points. Defense played poorly in the first half but really turned it on during the second half and did enough to keep the team in the game had the offense bothered to do anything at all.

the one massive mistake the D made in the second half was the facemask by Joyner on 3rd down when we stopped them and forced a punt from deep in their territory that would have given the offense really good field position.

O line did not do its job and we now know what it's like not to have an effective Taylor in a game. Not sure what happened with him.

Probably Dragan's first PAT miss after 56 attempts or so should have been a signal for what was to come.

Offensive line is the Achilles’ heel. That is supposed to be the strength of an upper Midwest Big Ten team.

The first 3 drives the DC got outcoached by the opposing OC

The rest of the game I thought he did a good job
I don’t want to call them flukes, but two of those long passes in the first half were kind of wonky too. Rutgers doesn’t make those plays in 9/10 games.

Fumbling at your own 12-yard line and giving 7 points to the opponent then getting sacked for a safety a few plays later deserves a loss. I was lucky to not see the game in real time as it looks like that series was reminiscent of a few Mason era melt downs. Or may Scott Frost era melt downs more recently?

The score could have been lop sided if the defense hadn't stopped Rutgers after the safety.

The first one was like a lazy fly ball in baseball. Very underthrown but our CB never located the ball. The second one should have been offensive PI.

Yeah, there were a lot of disappointing things about that game on Saturday but a big one was how good our secondary made Athan look in the first half. Losing out on those 50/50 battles after being so good in those all year....and the other crazy play from that first half was the 4th down TD.....I still don't know how that ball was not knocked down by Lindenberg....it missed his arms by a fraction of an inch.
